As of the most recent software update, CarPlay is working perfectly for me now. It was incredibly frustrating before!

Just upgraded my Pixel 7 Pro to Android 14 and now no longer any comfort access aka DK+ issues. So it tied back to vanilla Android 13 (Samsung and other's put their own spin on it including a custom wallet).

Now that is odd as theoretically the same Android 14 now on my Pixel 7 Pro that solved the DK+ comfort access issues. If anything that means the 8 Pro has Bluetooth chips different from the 7 Pro. Everything I read has been the new G3 tensor CPU/GPU vs the G2 on my 7 Pro.
I have an order in my Google shopping cart for a 8 Pro with trade-in credit for the 6 Pro the wife now has as she'd get my 7 Pro. Definitely holding off on that for now until more data points on the Pixel 8 and DK+. 👍 |

I've been using DK+ on my Pixel 8 pro with X6 LCI without issues so far.

It is sort of spotty for me on the S23+ right now. Sometimes it works as intended, sometimes it only works when touching the door-handle, sometimes it only works as NFC and sometimes it doesn't work at all.
My hope is that the coming Android 14 update fixes this. |

Pixel 8 Pro really does not work, hope is on the horizon
While my Pixel 6 Pro was working pretty damn well since the Android 14 update, i just received my Pixel 8 Pro and tried to set it up as the Master Key. I have a 2024 X5 XDrive 50e with the latest software update (just updated about a week ago). It even offers the 'REPLACE SMARTPHONE' option to move the Master Key to a new phone. So I tried it and the process was truly very smooth and straightforward (I had both my keyfobs in the car) until I got a message in the end stating that the process has failed. Period. No explanation.
I tried abot 30 times changing various settings, rebooting the car infotainment system, my phone, reinstalling the app, etc. but no luck. Clicking on the HELP link though, the system mentions that support for the Pixel 8 is coming soon. So they are aware and working on it and that is reassuring. After all, I vaguely remember how life was before the digital key plus... We had to carry this brick called the fob, so until there is a solution I can live with it.... |

Digging up the thread to see if others have experienced this either on iOS or Android. After a couple of months with my Pixel 7 Pro updated to Android 14 DK+ has been flawless. That said on Monday I did a remote start of the the wife's LCI but the MyBMW app as we were running late for an appointment and didn't want to wait for the RPMs to drop down from the cold start before engaging the transmission.
The car was unlocked so when we were both unit and I put my foot on the brake to press the start button to override the remote start the iD8 screen said "no key detected". Tried twice and then out the phone in the wireless charging tray and it detected the key. So the DK+ went back to DK but used the UWB buttons to lock and unlock for the drive home (with the Pixel in the wireless charging tray to start. Just nuked the key on Tuesday, reset it up and has been once again flawlessly working as DK+. So has anybody else experienced this with a remote start via the app breaking the DK+? May be another Android bug in the mix so very curious especially if those on iOS have done the same and DK+ fully intact afterwards. |

There is another thread specifically about the pixel 8 pro. Sorry I don't know how to link it here.
According to that thread there is an issue with Google wallet and the digital key not being implemented yet. Google support has confirmed implementation is coming. One support person said by the end of 2023, although that is now unlikely. Hopefully we will see it come as part of the January or February features drop. I am not sure how people are getting it to work at the moment on the 8 pro, given it has not even been implemented in beta yet. |

Just an FYI for those who are curious, I let my iPhone battery die to test whether the digital key would still unlock the vehicle (as stated in the manual). It did in fact unlock the car with a push of the side button. I felt I needed to test this for piece of mind since I never carry the key FOB and would hate to get stranded!

I carry the card, too. Single point of failure for something that mission critical makes me nervous!

I can’t get my Key card to work. Only had the car 1 week and the iPhone and watch it have worked flawlessly. I think I may be getting too comfortable with it
