2024 -- Limited Colors Now Available w/ 25s Starting in April?

My FiL is ordering a X40, and today he was told that they were limiting colors to like gray, black and blue for new orders. Any corroboration on this?

As he did not like the available colors, he was told '25s would start being produced in April -- Any corroboration on this?

Given what he was told, he opted for a '25.

I am waiting for an allocation for a M60, but now am wondering if my chosen color is not available (Ametrine) as a '24 and whether I will have to wait for a '25.

Since nothing has been published about the '25s, who knows if that is a smart or bad choice.

We have not heard any of that. Everything we have seen shows SOP being back to August. He may want to try another dealer.

I saw on another forum. Someone from Belgium ordered an X6 in Atlantic blue, last year in August. The delivery was scheduled for May this year. They were just informed that Atlantic blue is no longer available. Perhaps, some colors are being dropped for rest of the year.

They have stopped doing, at least taking, Individual paint orders for the year. They have in the past reduced the number of colors so that may be happening. What I don't think is correct is MY25 starting in April. I guess it could happen but from what we have seen, and not seen, it will be reverting back to the normal August.

MY 25 SOP is indeed April. I have heard that from 2 different sales managers so I have to believe it's true. Unclear why, but maybe it is because the 24s came out last April.

I was told "no changes" in car, but as always there is the possible (likely?) price increase.

We had just started looking to replace my wife's 2014 Mercedes GL. Planned to buy around this summer but considering pulling the trigger now.

Sales managers are often wrong in regards to these things. We had some saying the LCI was a year before it actually was. They may be right in this case but as of now I doubt it.

Are sales managers wrong sometimes? Of course. I doubted it too when I first heard it last week, which is why I asked another at a different dealership. But now we have 3 independent sources within BMW telling us that SOP for MY25 is April. Whether we doubt it really has nothing to do with it being true or not, right?

At a minimum, if you're interested in a 2024 model, or want to avoid a potential price increase for 2025, I would ask your dealer about it. We should know for sure very soon.

Any other rumored changes - colors, option availability? I really want to see the Climate Package and Dynamic Handling Package available on the 40i ... wishful thinking perhaps, but they were available in the past.

No changes that I heard about. The Climate package has been available for the 40i off and on. Last I heard it was available for orders.

The Dynamic Handling package has never been available for the 40i in the US.

It's available now - secretly - if you add all of the heated/contour/massage functions separately on the configurator. I'm hoping it's separately available like on the 50e/M60i without the massage seats. Weird they force massage seats with the ventilation only on the 40i.

Ah, mistaken on the DHP. Thought it was available on earlier MY 40is but maybe those were ROW reviews/posts I was reading about.

Yes, I think it may have been all other countries except the US. Canada had it and a few folks were looking into getting one there and bringing it back (a bad idea).

Crap. I'm scheduled for a build in week 11 (mid March) for my 50e. I'm tempted to push it back a few weeks for a 2025 MY... Called my salesman and he told me that the above dates are in fact correct. No allocations available for the 2025 MY yet and he told me that if I did want to move it, I'd lose my deposit...

Where are you? Typically deposits are refundable. You may lose your queue but unlikely you’d forfeit your deposit.

Oh wow this is interesting. Turtle, I'm scheduled for week 6 in status 112 currently. Do you think this could affect my Individual order? I have a feeling I might get pushed back. Seems like they wouldn't have multiple individual color batches so close to a EOP. What are your thoughts?

I don't think it will have any effect on your order, you should be fine. I would guess they are planning to get everything done prior to the EOY. You should be going to Production Begins soon if you haven't already.

Actually it seems like in most states the deposits are non-refundable. It all depends of course on the state law and the agreement you made.

To your point though, the dealer should allow him to change orders or even cancel without forfeiting given the order was pushed back.

X6, and X7, will be April also. I don't have that it they part but it just shows the current info.
