X5 40i EU delivery

Hi Guys,

At the very end of the past year, a friend of mine ordered x5 40i in one of European dealers and they told him that the production date is on march 2024, delivery April 2024. Reading all the forums I told him that it’s not impossible as only the transport will take 2-3 months to his local dealer. So some time past, talked to him today, and he said, according to what dealer says, the car is already produced, loaded onto the ship and is on the way to Europe. Wondering whether the dealer gives blind hopes or there is a chance to get the car delivered in such a short time after production.. I believe that the car was produced in march as the friend changed the specs in Feb..

Sounds possible, only takes a few weeks to sail from Charleston to Germany so if the timing is right he will be able to get it next month.

Hi, yes delivery times for Europe are usually 3 months. However, they are quite flexible, it happens when reading on the forums that it also happens in less time, never less than a month and unfortunately, as in my case, it doesn't arrive even after three months. Cars can stay at the port for a long time without leaving and I honestly don't understand why. In general I have seen that shipments to German customers are more timely. For shipping to Europe it must also be said that often, too often cars suffer damage during transport and in that case the times can become unspeakable. In other words it seems like it's just a matter of luck.
