Phytonic or Tanzanite?

Struggling with this decision. Can someone post pictures. We originally were going to order mineral white and wife threw me a curve ball! We are leaning toward Tanzanite, but worried that it would go purple in certain light. Unfortunately our dealer has neither on the lot at the moment.

I was in doubt between mineral white and tanzanite blue. Dealer had the blue on the lot. I liked it a lot and went with Tanzanite. Will pick it up friday.

Go Tanzanite, it's a awesome shade of blue.

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1619956

The purple effect you're referring to comes out with the Arctic Grey color. Most of the time Arctic Grey looks like a light blue/grey, and the purple affect only appears from the hood in direct strong sunlight.

I've got Arctic grey, and love it - especially with the shadowline trim and black front grill.

tanzanite is a very very rich dark blue; phytonic is lighter. I personally like tanzanite more i think it looks a lot better but it also costs a lot to get it, so... we chose arctic grey

I got the tanzanite also. It is dark blue and I have never seen any hint of purple. If anything there are times in low light that it looks black. Had it ceramic coated and in sunlight it sparkles beautifully. Works great together with the coffee interior. No regrets and loving it.

I'm a fan of both blue's but usually prefer silvers and light grays. Was leaning heavily towards Tanzanite but decided on Phytonic since it's not to light nor too dark and coordinates with ZAEI interior.

Color changes quite a bit depending on lighting.

When I first saw Tanzanite, I thought it was black or very very dark graphite, it was an overcast day, sorta gloomy, due to that, I passed it up as a color of choice. I later saw it again in the sun and it was quite beautiful, I really liked it. Upon verifying that it was the same car I had seen earlier, I was amazed how much the color changed depending on the sun being out.

Never was there even a hint of purple. James_G0530d is correct, in the right light, you might sense a bit of faded purple from the Arctic Grey but never with the Tanzanite, its a great color. If where you live in NJ you get a good amount of sunlight, you'll love it and so with others who look at it. Who knows, your neighbors might think you bought two, one black and one blue

I like both blues, ordered a M50i Phytonic. Think the $2000 difference not worth it. Also believe the lighter blue will be easier maintenance/detailing.

Auricom,

What did the XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic cost you? Considering it as well. Thanks

Here's both side by side...my X3M40i was Phytonic and my M3 was Tanzanite. I would go Tanzy all day long!! I have more if interested. Don't mind Stanley!

I've got a 2020 in tanzanite and I can also attribute it doesn't look like purple. Pretty much everyone who comments on the car also comments on how much they love the colour.

At night or even out of the sunlight it is dark. Not black, but very dark. In the light it is amazing look. The colour is just so deep.

I was comparing the different blues and I was worried I spent money on a colour upgrade that wouldn't be worth it but now I am so happy with it. Would not change it for anything. Just looks classy.

Tanzanite > Phytonic. Tanzanite just looks richer to me.

Was on the fence with TZB and Pyhtonic...went with Phytonic to save $2k
Both look great. TZB is much deeper blue and more metallic shine. really nice color and pops in sunlight. In the end I realized I keep cars 3-4 yrs and trade in with TZB won't matter much in long run.

Phytonic blue feels like a classic BMW blue color, Tanzanite blue is darker. Went with Phytonic because it looks better in my opinion with M Sport.

Tanzanite, especially if you go M Sport. The X3M/M40 look ok in Phytonic, but I'm not a fan of the X5 M Sport in Phytonic. I have a Tanzanite 340 and wish I had waited a few more months for the X5. As it is I went with Carbon Black, which I like, but Tanzanite is better.

Not mine, another forum member’s that we met prior to PCD last October. Tanzanite is a beautiful color!

We took delivery of an Alpine White M50i.

There's no question Tanzanite looks stunning in the sun but as soon as the ideal lighting conditions go away it looks very flat and you'll be wondering what you spent the extra money on. For that reason I'd pick Phytonic.

I'd have to disagree. Having one, I can't say it looks flat ever. out of the sunlight it is darker, but the paint looks very deep.

There is a 4 series in tanzanite that parks nearby regularly and every time I see it i think that the color would be amazing on a G05 with M sport and extended shadowline!

The 4 series also has shdowline and black rims by the way.
