Any open pore wood trim care issues?
I like the look of the open pore wood trim, but I’m wondering how it is to care for in the long term
Will greasy fingers (think French fry’s) leave spots that are hard to clean later? Just wondering how the non-glossy trim has held up for folks over the long haul in the real world. Thanks! |

That’s an interesting point. Intuitively, I’d say the exact opposite would be true

My experience with other open pore woods is that they suck up basically anything. Water, grease, child snot, and then discolor. |

In my car I have the standard trim - I guess it’s called fine line something. Had it also in my 7 series prior to the X5. It’s something I don’t really notice at all - so no complaints
Oh, maybe one - it’s way too glossy

I have similar open pore trim in my 2018 Audi A6 and it’s held up fine. Obviously could be different from current BMW implementation, but I don’t think I’d stress over it. We ordered it in our 50e that is on the way…
