I started mining Ethereum in Nov of last year. Yeah, I've stopped. It was good while it lasted. I don't think anybody knows where crypto is headed. I'd like to think it will recover - Nasdaq has announced they will start Bitcoin futures trading sometime in the first half '19, blockchain technology is generating a lot of attention in various sectors of society and I even saw an IBM commercial on TV the other day promoting blockchain.
Crypto is still in the beginning stages of it's life - if you look at crypto as automobiles, people are yelling "get a horse" at Bitcoin.

Half my posts are just trolling to get a rise and it’s working. That thread was almost 10 years ago and I was depressed about money because everyone maxed out credit while I always paid for things in cash.

I’m over it now though, but thanks for checking in on it.

He was right though, I was trolling too hard. I’m deleting the immature posts and bowing out of the thread.

Speaking of making easy money in crypto - anybody else notice Ethereum has nearly doubled in the last 10 days or so? Dec 15 at $82, today at $142. Holy cow. Anybody buy at $82?

I recently joined a Technical Analysis (TA) group and they are very very bullish right now. Who knows. Some people don't believe in TA for Crypto, but they are calling for a pullback right now of about 5-6% and then a big run up.

Typically this time of year is good for short term gains - at least till tax time.

Hopefully it runs up a bit so I can dump some of the ETH I bought at higher prices for less of a loss. I am not sure we will see the numbers we had in the past. I think the hype train made its stop and its going to be pretty flat for the next few years until a economic downturn is seen in the rest of the financial world.

This whole crypto thing started out with the developers thumbing their nose at the established financial world order. Those misfit geniuses started crypto hoping it could exist without their help and support; crowing about decentralized distributed ledger changing the financial world. Something changed their minds and they started courting the SEC. It's anybody's guess where this will end up. Something tells me it will be around for a long, long time.

Tron TRX did some numbers, 500-610 that would have been a massive gain. I did not enter any trades, and had a buy set to low around 475. I wish i woulda bought in at 500.

Seems like TRX broke out a bit, and will reach 700s soon

650 is the biggest resistance at 26 BTCs at the moment..once that falls, is MOON time

There might be one or two "traders" on here, but I think most were more investing/speculating not day trading.

Still over here dollar cost-averaging.

i got in on BTT bittorent on release, went bonkers.

i've seen some analyst call this bottom and reverse happening, but im not so certain yet, BTC has to push through a couple key resistance points.

it has been nice that BTC started to move a bit, now awaiting confirmation.

i have 2 lambos on order, one spyder one truck

I am playing the long haul. Lambos was what I wanted to buy when I thought it was going to pop.

I am in the long haul now. I will be buying some water front property instead.

I remember distinctly in 2013, a friend of mine excitedly told me about his newest business venture -- he invested $4,000 in a computer system to "mine" for this online currency. At first, I was skeptical. The excitement in his voice was that of someone who just joined a cult and was promised life's answers in return. I did my research and had my reservations, but trusted him as a friend and decided to buy $1,000 USD worth of BTC which gave me just shy of 8 BTC. By the end of 2013 I had tripled my investment. I took out my initial $1,000 as to just play with profits.

A few years went by and in early 2015 my friend and I reconnected over the massive gains we were now seeing with BTC. We had an idea to create an app like Acorns that invests your spare change into a diversified Cryptocurerncy portfolio, automatically managed by algorithms. We assembled a team and began working on this project. By mid 2016 we had a comprehensive business plan, software development team, marketing team, and were full steam ahead. We had everything in place yet couldn't secure funding. We searched high and low for investors to back our project, but at the time, investors wouldn't touch crypto with a 10 foot poll. We simply couldn't gather the funds needed to do it right. The project faded and I sold a majority of my BTC in Dec. 2017 during its all time high. I made a great profit.

Just a few months ago, I saw an article on a Shark Tank entrepreneur that pitched this app idea to the sharks -- invests spare change into an automatically managed Crypto portfolio. Kevin O'leary invested in it.

Currently, I have been day trading altcoins and have realized a small but consistent profit. Do some research on SiaCoin, its a very interested idea which I believe could be huge in the future.
