Costs of switching interior wood trim?

Just curious if anyone has an estimated cost if someone wanted to completely switch out one color of interior wood trim for a different color. This would be on an already purchased X5 50i and I'm assuming would be done at a BMW dealership. Tried calling a dealership but no luck there, they basically were just trying to get a sale going for a new vehicle from the parts department. Would be great if someone had an estimate for the new wood trim plus the labor charge.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a thread about this. I think it was a little while back. If I remember correctly, it would not be cheap.

It's cost prohibitive but if you have money to burn. If you go through all this work, there's the possibility for developing rattles etc that might not have been there before.

There's a fair amount of labor and this is what your mechanic is in for:

Replacing the center console trim:

Somewhere between a arm or a kidney. This is the lesson you learn by just getting every option with a 50i. At this price point you just go for it.

What trim does it have and what do you want it to have?

Yes I believe you're right, it does look like alot of trouble. And thinking of all the labor plus parts I am sure it'll be quite costly. Sometimes these things we don't know for sure as far as how high it goes but just curious about this one. I guess there's a line between money to burn and just too expensive to be worth it, although it's something we look at every day while driving so we should be happy with it if we're able to make it like we want it. Just didn't know if it'd be in the low or mid thousands.

Depending on the trim, could be less than $1K. There's a bit of labor with 4 doors, left/right dashboard, and center console.

What trim do you have now and wanted to switch to?

If you not specifically looking for other trims offered by BMW...Why don't you try Vinyl Wrap?

Vinyl trim in a BMW? Pretty low-rent, no?
