Since the last 2 weeks i have been getting a driver restraint system failure error message. Nothing has changed in the car nor has it been in an accident or anything. I restarted the idrive to see if it would go away but it didn’t and since then it pops up every time and stays on.

I have an appointment to take it in to the dealer but that is 3 weeks away so I want to know how can I check what is causing this? I have BimmerCode and bimmerlink apps so anything I can do with them to diagnose it and find out what is causing this issue? I also went into the car menu using the BC stalk but couldn’t figure anything out there also.

it could be the seat connection does not plug in tightly ? Check that and then in bimmerlink, scan for error and try to clear it.

I unplugged to seat cable for some work and idrive popped similar error and wont clear until I cleared it via bimmerlink.
