Climate Comfort Package, Yea or Nay?

The main reason I would select this package would be the ventilated seats for summer, but it looks as if this package also changes the headrest and the seat backs, is that correct? They look wider and perhaps more comfortable?

Climate Comfort package includes multi-contour seats, hence the difference in appearance. With them you can adjust the tilt of the upper back section, the thigh extension is powered, and you can manually fold in the edges of the headrest to better cradle your head. By all accounts, the comfort and configurability is an improvement over standard seats.

That makes sense.

Now to determine whether if they're worth the 2k.

Does anyone know if the seat base of the multi contour is different compared to the standard x5 or are all the differences with the seat back and not the base?

I'd go for the climate comfort package.. if you're already spending $70,000+ on a BMW (or any car for that matter) I'd want to be comfortable

I'm a big fan of the climate comfort package.

Multi-contour seats are a deal breaker for me in this car, but why not add ventilation when you're at it?

There's really only 3 options that aren't worth it. Air suspension (in some cases because it's less sporty), alcantara headliner (because it always looks messy), and towing package. The towing package isn't worth it solely because better options exist in the aftermarket.

All the other packages are worth it, and frankly, you should get them on on a vehicle at this price point. I could see skipping B&W maybe if you listen to like, talk radio only or something.

Where can you find a better option for towing aftermarket vs the $650 factory option?

Also, to me the air suspension is 100% worth it for ride comfort quality alone.

I've heard things about the ventilation making the seats less comfortable. Not sure if it's true.

What better options exist? I could not find any, at any price.

If you have the MC seats, yes...the front seat headrests have manually adjustable side extensions:

The pics below are from an f15 and f15 owners manual...but the design concept is the same on the G05 and other BMW MC seats across multiple platforms:

There's a thread somewhere here detailing it, but their setup lets you retain the kick to open for the tailgate.

In my experience air suspension is great, even when fast cornering. I guess it all depends on the kind of surfaces you will be rolling down.

Air suspension is also self-leveling when you put a heavy load in the cargo compartment or tow a trailer.

My E70 had this feature and I'm told that I have it on my G05 but it never seems to work and I feel like I'm going to break the headrest.

I assumed the feature got deleted because of supply chain issues or something on my car...

1) Air suspension is a highly desirable option for a lot of us. My X5 is a DD work vehicle and comfort is way more important than any other attribute of the suspension.

2) Agreed

3) Anyone needing a hitch would be way better served with the factory option. It's very reasonably priced and I couldn't care less about the 'kick to open' feature, but the biggest problem with aftermarket is that it's likely to sit lower than the factory hitch. My previous car was like this and I was always bottoming out on steep inclines.

Alcantara looks amazing and it gives a more upscale ambiance to the interior. To each their own I suppose but the regular fabric headliner just looks average to me...no different than what you'd find in a $40,000 Honda.

Not sure if the G05 air suspension is different, but we have it on our 2018 X5 M-Sport and it is very floaty...not a fan of it at all. If the 2025 is the same we will forego it for the MSport adaptive.

Can't find any great pictures.of how it works, but the link below kinda shows it.

https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Stealth-Hitches/SH22MR.html?feed=npn&gad_source=1

The stealth hitch removes some of the upright portion of the hitch when not in use. So no real ground clearance issues. It's totally stealth when not in use, and sits behind the factory bumper.

My steel spring M50i is super comfortable, but I don't have a tiny of potholes to deal with. I'd rather have a suspension that doesn't float and stays level around corners and turns than one that floats over potholes.

I don't disagree, the black fabric does look "normal", but that's better than hand prints of the alcantara nap pointing the wrong way. I have alcantara inserts in my other cars and it drives me nuts. Every time.my wife pops the mirror down that's like fingerprints on the glass for me.

Alcantara headliners are the piano black trim of your roof. Looks great in a perfect world, but drives you insane with fingerprint type stuff.
