I went to 112 on 4/20.

Called Genius and I was told that mine got moved to week 19 though the production date says 5/6, which is subject to change.

I placed my order for an X3 on 3/27 and was assigned a week 20 production slot. I moved to 112 status on 4/21 and as of a few minutes ago I am still there. My production date is week of 5/14.

Congrats on the status change. I think we have been seeing three to four weeks to SoCal. Hopefully that is getting quicker, maybe some recent deliveries will chime in.

Update on this,

I called the dealer specifically asking 3 times that if i added the hitch option that I would not lose the production date. They stated on all occasions that production status would not be affected

Today I go the check the status on My Garage and also with F12, order went from 112 to 111, called Genius to discuss, they also confirmed that my production date went from week 20 to now week 29.

Obviously not very happy with BMW dealership.

Advice to anyone else contemplating changes after 112 status is confirmed -- BEWARE!

The production week is tied to the allocation unless the item being added is something that they don’t have parts for (which doesn’t seem to be an issue this year, but was more of a problem last year and during peak supply disruption)

I wouldn’t draw any conclusions at this point since we have not heard of others being backed up due to the hitch. They had been in short supply the last few years so could easily be that backing it up. Hopefully some others who ordered the hitch will chime in. It could also be a scheduling tactic and it will be brought forward.

I'm also supposed to be week 20 with a hitch. And I have not moved off of scheduled for production yet, fwiw.

I have an X3 on order with the hitch option and I am also a week 20 production. I am still in the production scheduled (112) stage. I am guessing X3 and X5 both use the same hitch.

My 50e with hitch got “Scheduled for production” status in early March, and has been stuck in “production begins” for 3 weeks now.

That sounds normal although probably closer to two weeks. You can use the F12 process to get your scheduled production date. If you need instructions let me know. I can also get it for you if you post or PM me your VIN.

Week 20 with hitch currently 112

So, my week 19 order also went from 112 to 111 earlier this week. Incidentally, I also have a hitch on my build, but I didn’t make any changes to my order. And, I don’t believe the hitch is the issue.

My CA checked with BMWNA and indicated that the issue was the climate comfort package - either the 4 zone portion or the rear heated seats because he indicated he could add the heated steering wheel and arm rests back and front heated seats are standard. Separately, I was told by a manager at the dealership that BMWNA told him the issue was the executive package - specifically the soft close door portion of the package. I’m not sure which is correct or if it’s both. They both told me it’s looking like July at this point unless I’m willing to remove the options with supply chain issues.

Are either of these packages part of your build?

Yes I have both similar build codes (ZPX, ZRC) and was pushed back from 112 to 111
