Ordered a fully loaded (except for B&W) 50e in Malachite Green on 1st of March 2023. Was told it was planned for week 24 back then but with the dealer giving me an expected delivery week 31 (in Germany) in the meantime me thinks production was moved somewhere in the region of week 26. (Dealer wouldn't tell me planned production week.)

I've asked for an update and specifically requested the production week as well, will post when I know. (Customers in Europe can't track their orders like US customers can. All info has to come through the dealer.) Week 31 would be a huge blow to the schedule. That would be more than half a year between order and delivery ...

Are ALL individual colors actually batched together? I thought they would always batch certain colors?

Short burst of excitement subdued by a re-confirmation of our Week 31 production date. Just called Genie and they told me that nothing has changed.

I believe there was a misunderstanding with your dealer about production/delivery.

Had a call with the dealer today. Delivery week changed to week 30 and would line up with the from BMW Individual initially communicated planned production week 24 when I ordered. He still wouldn't/couldn't tell me the production week but I would wager it's around 24-25. He also confirmed status 112 right now which would also confirm that week 30 is certainly not the production week.

Updates on my end:

1) From my dealer: "No new updates yet. Your order is currently sitting with a week 31 production date but that isn’t always exact and could happen sooner as you read. I’ll keep you posted once I know more but as of right now no news."

2) My status shows 111

I’m still at 111 too. A little strange they’d do an export individual 5-6 weeks before local orders. To be clear, it’s weird there would be two separate runs of individual colors that close together.

I’m on west coast. Car ships to SoCal dealer and then he’s shipping to Oregon. And July 31 is a Monday, so week 31 from my calks is really first week of August.
Deano, do you mind me asking what dealership you ordered from? I’m finding a lot of CA dealers refusing to sell/ship out of state.

Agreed with your sentiment but I have made my peace with the end of July build. On the positive side, it sounds like we are in good shape to get the new processor as part of our build.
I also have a British racing green in order, I am sure they will be built together. Cool!l, cant wait

Just found another NJ dealership that ordered one:

Crazy. I have never seen one on the road and now there will be three within a 10 mile radius of me. Either way, doesn't really dampen my excitement but was just surprised to see that there must have been an earlier production run.

No problem. BMW of Murrieta…SoCal. Call Tom Forgot. They have done it a lot. 908.268.0759. Big edealer so have good number of allocations. It is $800 to ship from there to Central Oregon.

So there's someone who already bought an in-stock X5 M60i in BRG here and someone else from Toronto who had his X5 M60i in Malachite Green produced on 18/05/2023. So it seems there were quite some Individual Colors produced already.

Great research. I don't get it then. I know a few people that ordered way before me(mid March) and are all waiting for Week 31. On the positive side, maybe your car will be actually produced in Weeks 24-26!

Based on the videos I saw, I believe the BRG car is the one from the 2nd video. Wheels and interior match up.

P.S. REALLY didn't want to hear(no pun intended) about the disappointment in the exhaust acoustics.

I thought so too but then realized that the color of the brake calipers doesn't match.

There's another one in Nardo Grey for sale by the way.

I would love to know what BMW's strategy actually is in terms of individual colors production.

€dit: Apparently there's also someone from France with a 474 Sepia Violet X5 on its way.

Quick question, were you able to check if you went to 112? I am really curious if your dealer was correct about your timeframe.

I would imagine that if your productions was scheduled in weeks 25-27, you would know by now.

<fingers crossed for you>

Mine was @ 112 already back when I had the call with my dealer. But it should be @ 150 by now or rather being produced this week. So far no news from the dealer but honestly I don't trust him to inform me in time either. I've specifically asked him about the delivery in week 30 since that would mean that it should go into production any day now and he confirmed that it still says delivery in week 30. I'll let you know as soon as I get any update.

Did you use the F12 trick to check your current status and expected production date?

I'm from Europe where you can't track your car in any way shape or form. The only information you can get is whatever the dealer is willing to share with you which is next to nothing in my case. ("Expected delivery week" which is not binding and nothing else.)

I was originally quoted week 31 (x5 40i) a few days ago it went to 112. I emailed the genius team to confirm if I’m still week 31 or if I moved up. Even if I spend 2 weeks in 112 & 2 weeks in 150 that would have me a build week 27 or 28

I just checked mine and still 111.

Btw, does anyone know what the color code 0490 is?

P.S. Does the cost of Individual Paint vary by dealership? My guy was surprisingly vague about the cost. On my invoice it shows up as "Blocked". Based on the builds that I have done before, I expect it to be $3,600 but he said it would be in that ballpark when it prices out without giving me a specific $ amount.

The cost is $5,000 for normal and I think $5.5k for frozen. Some dealers won't discount it but others do.

As an aside, you should never order a vehicle without first finalizing the deal. You have zero bargaining power now.

490 means a special paint was ordered.
