Week 32 Build

Don’t see an official week 32 thread so I’ll start one. Order confirmed with production # on July 1. A call to Genius this evening states my X5 M60i is a week 32 build. Dravit Grey over Ivory White. Given that I’m only 4 hrs from Spartanburg I’m hoping to see it mid to late August.

New Mandatory Option on M Sport?

I just got a week 32 build and I am doing a SC Performance Center delivery of my 2024 X5 xDrive40i, M Sport, Carbon Black Metallic, Ivory White Extended Merino Leather, Fineline Black Wood Trim, Parking Assistance Package, Premium Package, M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers, Heated Front Seats, Armrests & Steering Wheel, Multi-contour seats, Rear manual side window shades, Trailer Hitch, Space-saver spare.

I really wanted the ZRC Climate Comfort Package or individually 4NB 4-zone Climate Control. Also, was hoping BMW would allowing adding 4MC Carbon Fiber Trim as an option on 40i M Sports. None of these were available.

However, my dealer just told me the the Anthracite Alcantara Headliner for $650 was a "mandatory" added option now for M Sport? Anyone else getting this as a mandatory option with M Sport on X5 xDrive40i? I didn't see that in the build & price tool.
Is your PCD scheduled yet?

The Anthracite Alcantara Headliner (S0776) was not mandatory on my 50e, but I did end up with Anthracite Headliner (S0775) as a part of the M-Sport package. Honestly not sure what the difference is - just alcantara or not?

It's a $650 option on my build

775 is the standard headliner.

Same here but a call to Genius yielded a week 32 build.

Usually scheduled after you hit 150. That way they are assured they can deliver on schedule. It will be 3+ weeks after they e-mail and schedule you. Awesome experience. Definitely worth the wait!

PCD won't be scheduled UNTIL 150 status. Also, the date is based on a few factors such as when your CA put in the request, the number of requests received, etc. Spots on a first-come first-served basis, so if both our builds hit 150, and are completed on the same day, but my CA put in my request before well (days/weeks) before yours I'll have more priority over you.

As soon as I hit 150 I emailed PCD about it, they reached out to my CA that same day, and my CA reached out to me that same day with my available dates. I only waited a couple of days past two weeks. To get better dates, your CA needs to submit the paperwork for PCD as soon as you place your order.

My dealer emailed me yesterday and said he’s got me into a Week 32 build but No ZRC Climate Comfort Package or 4NB 4-Zone Climate Control. I’m thinking of holding out another month to see if BMW brings these options back. Did your dealer give you any insight into the parts shortages and when they might potentially re-offer ZRC and 4NB?

I was able to get these parts on a 50e build for week 32 - but probably different for the 40i?

Yes, is it different for each model. If I remember correctly, 4NB can't be added to any X5 as a stand alone option anymore. It is still included in the CCP, but that can only be added to 50e and M60i builds, currently not offered on the 40i. Same goes for the executive package

I believe you are correct. The issue comes from not being able to add CCP to the 40i at present. I’m hoping this is a temporary parts/options restriction on 40i as they are prioritizing supply for the higher end models.

Offered no insights, I pestered him enough to keep checking. He didn't know if it was part shortage or a permanent change. Knows the ZRC Climate Package and the ZPX Executive Packages are not permanent and guessed its caused by limited availability of parts. I really wanted the 4NB 4-Zone for the dog who rides in the back seat, she will drive us crazy panting if she gets too hot. At least I got the roll up shades on the rear glass for her.

Normally, how long before Week 32 Production Week will the status change to 150, or is it changed during the production week?

It changes to 150 about two weeks prior to your production date.

Anytime prior to going to 150. The exception to that is if you ordered an Individual item then there is a last change date which is usually a few days after the order has been accepted.

150 Production Started
This is incorrect. 150 does not mean that the vehicle is on the assembly line and being assembled. It means that a VIN has been assigned and the parts ordered/allocated.
