Hey all

Got a notification for this remote upgrade

Immediately installed it. Hoping it helps with the CarPlay connectivity issues

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this version so far.

Great to see ! .53 was one of the last builds so that’s encouraging! Are you located in Canada btw?

I had .53 installed at the dealer two weeks ago. It definitely seemed to help with the frequent CarPlay disconnects.

The MyBMW app is now showing version .53 for me too (and I'm in the US). Those of you who don't have it yet should check for a remote software upgrade.

Got the update prompt also on the XM. I haven’t checked yet on the 50e.

I sent my M50i for transfer case diagnosis and received the same update on my loaner 330i. Prompted "ready to install" just as I parked in the garbage and installed without any issue.

Maybe my M50i will come back with the same version installed

Super disappointed to see the Avoid comfort access at home didn’t make it in this update

For some reason they are not enabling it for the X5/X6 yet but it is available for other models. Hopefully in the next update.

That is the way the BMW has historically rolled out the OTA. They are available in Europe and other regions a couple of weeks to a month before it comes to the US. My guess is BMWNA is just being conservative about releasing it. For good reason I guess, they have a terrible track record with OTAs.

The update when smoothly on my 50e too. Took around 20 minutes. Went from .540 to .553

Got notification today and updated to 07/2023.53 on x40. So far cannot tell what has changed or improved.

07/2023.53 updated on my xDrive45e today. Haven't used it yet, that'll come tomorrow.

BMW seems to do an OTA update after a newer version is available to the dealers...any idea what their latest version is, or what it might address?

.53 has been working very well for me for 3 weeks, virtually eliminating the CarPlay issues I was having. Hopefully the rest of you have a similar, positive experience.

Does OTA update require car to be in a place that has data connection? Unfortunately in my garage my X5 has no data connection
