I wanted to order a set. I did not realize how expensive it was. Figured painting is just fine. I wasn’t up to removing the bumper or buying the stick on set from Amazon. SEM trim paint never fails.

Garage List
looks great, but will that paint hold up to the exhaust heat?

We will see. The inside of my exhaust black wasn’t too bad. And I did not intentially paint it.

Nice!
Did you have to use primer? Will the paint stick long term to chrome underneath?

I scuffed it lightly with 2000. SEM works well on chrome (tho this is fake chrome, more plastic). Hope that helps. I did scuff the inside of the exhaust area with 1000.

Good job.

That will hold up fine, it doesn't really get 'that' hot as its not directly in contact with the actual exhaust.

I used plastidip which has given a very similar finish to yours, and it has held up perfectly.
