Ok so I have figured out that not all cars ship to the same "port". Mine is going to an East Coast "port" which is in the same state as the dealer, so hopefully it will go quickly.

Dispatched from Factory but was Awaiting Carrier Assignment on the website when I called to inquire. East coast dealer and being shipped out. Much better availability/deal even with shipping factored in ($1200).

My car shows awaiting carrier assignment but I spoke to a genius and they said it has been loaded on the truck and off to the dealership around 1 pm. Estimated delivery to PA is December 6th.

alright, so I am getting some unusual indications about the progress. Spoke with a Genius a little while ago and he provided detailed information on the status, better than other Geniuses before. According to him, the vehicle came out of the production line yesterday night, this morning it has already been released to the carrier. It's coming to Texas si it's gonna come by rail and then by truck to the dealer.

Spoke to CA right after, he checked the status and said it seems the vehicle is already in the delivery center in Texas and should be picked up by the transporting company within the next couple of days. He is estimating a delivery to me any day between 04DEC and 07DEC.

Sounds strange that the vehicle will move so quickly from production to distribution center, but then strange things have happened before, and I would want this to be true as well.

Yeah, same here. I am frustrated because different people told me totally different stuff - even different geniuses told me different stuff. They even are not consistent about the VPC location. One genius told me VPC is just at Spartanburg, and one Genius told me VPC is at Renton WA. Genius today quoted me 27 days train ride from Spartanburg to Renton WA, while my dealer just told me it will hit Renton on 12/07. Who should I trust?

I would go by what the dealer contact is suggesting. They have more up-to-date information since, as I understood, once the vehicle is released, the dealers are notified of each step since they are the receiving party. Nonetheless, fingers crossed, I am not gonna complain if the vehicle shows up for the delivery day after. I will be the bigger person with a bigger heart and will forgive all the misinformation ...

Same. Mine was dispatched today as well. Seems like some people's orders are bypassing the "At port" step for whatever reason. Hope ours are that way :-)

My X5-4.5e which cleared the factory on 11/30 has already reached the dealer in Denver. Pretty flippin fast! Pick up this weekend or early next week.

Correct by Truck. Have you asked your dealer how it is being transported....surprised they are doing train....unusual to be using a train in my experience.

It takes it’s sweet time to cross the country :-). Mine left Spartanburg via train on 11/16 and reached Kansas City on 11/21. It then continued on via train to Renton, WA, and had an estimated arrival at the Renton VPC on 12/2, but it doesn’t seem that it’s arrived yet (or if it did, it hasn’t been checked in).

Hey thanks for your info. Maybe thanksgiving slowed things down a bit. However, sounds like your total train ride from Spartanburg to Renton should be less than 3 weeks, which is still lot shorter than what genius quoted me for.

Mine was dispatched from the factory on 12/2 and arrived at the dealer on 12/3. Unfortunately the dealer is on the east coast so I will have to wait on truck shipping as well.

Daily status check with Genius reveals that the shipment to Texas will be via Truck, with no train involvement as I was informed earlier.
