Genius today quoted me 27 days train ride from Spartanburg to Renton WA, while my dealer just told me it will hit Renton on 12/07. Who should I trust?
It takes it’s sweet time to cross the country :-). Mine left Spartanburg via train on 11/16 and reached Kansas City on 11/21. It then continued on via train to Renton, WA, and had an estimated arrival at the Renton VPC on 12/2, but it doesn’t seem that it’s arrived yet (or if it did, it hasn’t been checked in).
Hey has your car arrived at Renton VPC yet? Trying to use it as an reference on how long it will take.

Daily status check with Genius reveals that the shipment to Texas will be via Truck, with no train involvement as I was informed earlier.

Fri, 04th DEC 2020: DIspatched From Factory
Tue, 01st DEC 2020: (Close to midnight) AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT. A carrier has been assigned to take care of your BMW.
Tue, 01st DEC 2020: Entering assembly line
Tue, 01st DEC 2020: In the paint booth
Tue, 01st DEC 2020: Exterior body assembly begins
Tue, 24th NOV 2020: Expected completion changed to 01st DEC 2020
Tue, 16th NOV 2020: Online status changed to "Production Begins" (expected completion 04th DEC 2020)
Fri, 30th OCT 2020: Online status changed to "Scheduled for Production"
Mon, 26th OCT 2020: Dealer placed the order with BMW
Sat, 24th OCT 2020: Deal negotiated with the dealer

After the status change on 04th December, Dispatched From Factory, I spoke to the CA and Geniuses a few times. Slightly varying information in each call. Nonetheless, this is what I concluded -My vehicle is despatched from VPC Spartanburg on 04DEC. The carrier is Truck (UNITED ROAD SERVICES). The expected arrival at the dealer in Houston is 09DEC. I was earlier under the impression that shipments from SC to Texas arrive via Rail to Galveston VPC and then via truck to the dealer. But, seems either that has changed, or was untrue. I found a way to check the status of the delivery at UNITED website. I have my instructions to the CA to not do anything to the vehicle without me first taking a look. There is a NO PDI imprinted on my file at the CA.

On a side note, my garage is all clean and ready to receive my first Bimmer . I am just waiting for the moment for it to arrive and will show up at the dealership.

Nope, either it hasn't arrived or still hasn't been scanned in yet

As I posted in the other thread:

FYI - for those of you with vehicles on the train to Renton that had an ETA of 12/2, they arrived yesterday (12/9). Mine was released to carrier the same day (tells me it was likely sitting in the yard for a few days and was just finally scanned in) and expected to get picked up today by the truck.

New Baby Picked Up Today

Picked up my X5-4.5e today (11/30 Build complete). Had the wheels poweder-coated......The car looks amazing especially when in the low stance. Drives great and Electric mode is pretty cool. Lot's to learn now.

Tue, 08 DEC 2020 (10:51 AM): At dealer lot. All truck, no rail.
Fri, 04th DEC 2020: Dispatched From Factory

Slightly delayed update, folks, my apologies!

Kept tracking my vehicle on UNITED ROAD Services website.
The vehicle showed up at the dealer lot on Tue, 08 Dec 2020. I had no PDI without me looking at the vehicle first, instruction on my file. CA called right after the vehicle came in. Went in for a quick look. It was all wrapped in a protective cover, inside and out, keys were disabled, the console was disabled, looked like just out of the bay, had four miles on it.

Fixed a delivery date of Wed, 09 Dec. Went to the dealer in the morning, saw the vehicle going through the process of being cleaned, programmed, got floor mats, wheel locks put in, didn't seem they were doing anything over and above. Just a basic hand wash and cleaning. Did drove around with the CA a little, just to make sure everything sounds/looks okay. Went through the close process, took about 20 minutes. Got the ESA enabled. Left the facility with 14 miles on board, and an ear to ear grin. Have driven a little after that, about 100 miles or so, and I absolutely adore the ride as much as I adore the beauty of my precious beast.

Configured Connected drive, digital key, all of the options that I wanted to set. Seamless so far. The idrive version is 11/2020.30 (I think). The NAV version is 2020.

Will post pictures soon. Thanks for all your help and support. This forum has been wonderful.

Are you from USA? How did you order red brake calipers on X5-45E? The US BMW website shows that only blue calipers are available on X5-45e.

Did the dealer coated these wheels? how much they charged?

I have the same bicolor wheels Code: 1TD Style: 740M with Red-Brake clipper and would love to have black look. Don't know how it will be treated at the end of the lease?

Local place in Denver did the powder coat.....$250/wheel.....my understanding on lease returns should be no problem...but best to get in writing but likely dealer won’t sign up. Never heard of an issue ....provided no curb rash....

Merry Christmas guys. My estimated arrival to Renton VPC is 12/24. But it looks like it still hasn't arrived yet. Anyone has the same ETA?
