While I do think the rest of the Exec Package is pretty overrated, the fact that they handicapped the regular LED lights makes them a non-starter for me.

I too like the blacked out look better, but on the regular LED lights, the "angel eyes" are only half the light. The laser ones go up a lot more. More importantly, both sets of lights work. The regular LED ones only have the outer light in use and the inner one is just a dummy bulb. That's just ridiculous to me and makes the most difference in "looks".

I'm probably not a good one to talk style...my first new vehicle was a Citroen ID19. I probably had the most comfortable ride of any vehicle I've ever owned so I didn't really care, and was pretty efficient for the times, too.

Most of the choices are not 'bad', it's just that the laser lights are state of the art. Technically, they're still LEDs, but the implementation is entirely different. I just wish our outdated laws in the USA allowed us to enjoy their true, full functionality from the factory. Hopefully, that will be addressed once all of the regulations and paperwork gets resolved soon. It's way overdue.

Difference in looks is clear.

But in "on" mode there is a big difference.

Standard LED and adaptive LED have a dummy light. Only the outside light is shining.
1 light(bulb) for the normal light and high beam.

With lasers, both lightbulbs are split in a top and bottom light.
Top for daytime/normal
Bottom for high beam

FYI X3 adaptive LEDs have both lightbulbs working.

I'm not a fan of the Laser light housing. Too flashy IMO (no pun intended) and I think standard LED lights will be sufficient for driving in my area, as the roads are generally well lit.

If the feds ever end up approving the antidazzle functionality of the headlights, the laser beam will take on a whole new level of progress. It can be enabled with coding, but is not something that can be done with BimmerCode...it's more involved than that can handle today.

I picked up our 45e and have noticed that we do not have the cornering lights in the Adaptive LED. Is this normal? We have had a few BMW over the years and all of them have had it! Looking at a previous post that shows a diagram of difference between the LED and Laser, it seems to indicate that both versions have the cornering lights. Bummer if it is only on the Laser, as that might have made them worth it, as I know I’ll miss them. We have a lot of dark roads in Maine.

Sorry, found an earlier post about the cornering lights. Lame BMW! I can’t believe that my 2010 335 has them, and my new new 45e doesn’t. It is very frustrating when companies dumb down things, to make the ‘so called’ better option, actually better. I understand that Laser tech is cool but how can you remove a basic feature from more than 10 years ago! Super frustrated. I would have considered the exec pkg, even though I can’t stand the crystal stuff.

Not for USA market:

USA G05 headlight options:
1. Standard 552 Adaptive Full LED, limited HBA and no cornering
2. 5AZ Icon Adaptive LED with Laserlight, limited HBA and Laserlight range

Example UK G05 headlight options:
1. Standard LED, non-adaptive with cornering???
2. 552 Adaptive Full LED with 5AC HBA and cornering
3. Z0C Visibility package, 5AZ Icon Adaptive LED with Laserlight and 5AC
