Last night I started out with the RedBreast 21 out of this group. Today I’ll try one of the scotches and bounce back and forth.

How is that one? Been wanting to try but OOS everywhere. It was recommended here a while back but couldn't find it.

If you think Jameson lingers on the palate, you'll probably want to stay well away from any and all Scotch.

What do you normally drink?

Go to's: Chivas 12 or 18 gold, or black label. The Balvenie 12 is becoming a go to as well at home and I've been going through much more than I'd like lol, considering the price.

I'm well aware whisky "lingers on the palette" and I'm sure you know they have their distinct flavors. One mans trash is another mans gold, Jameson isn't for me and neither is the taste, if you all like it go ahead and keep drinking it.

OK, I thought you were taking exception to how long the finish lasted, not necessarily the quality thereof.

Picked this two up. The buffalo trace is NEVER in stock so had to get a bottle when I saw it. They even had a 1 per customer limit. 1792 is in stock on and off but decided to try it based on recommendation from here.

BT sits on shelves around here, it is pretty mediocre IMO. I will give a heads up, the 1792 Small Batch is the only one I really don't like that much. If you don't like it you might still like the full proof, bib, single barrel, etc.

I only got it because I never see it and I hear all this hype about it. Honestly for the price I think it's pretty good. However I'm not one of these people than can smell leather and cinnamon and shit so. I think the price is the selling point for BT. I think is was like $25 or something like that and honestly... I would drink it noooo problem.

Hmmmm didn't even notice it was small batch. It's the only one they had so I picked it up. Honestly I think it's good, has slightly more bite than woodford and buffalo but also has a slightly more complex flavor. Couldn't tell you what it is that makes it so. Just seems to have "other" flavors in there compared to BT and woodford.

In the end I would honestly not care if any of these were served to me somewhere. I am happy drinking any of them. The only one that I can immediately identify and hate is Jim Bean.
