I was wondering the same. I looked at a couple builds that were delayed and I couldn't nail it down and I don't want to speculate.

Maybe it's the 45e?

Yeah you bet. It could be any component. Shortage driven by demand surge.

I'm willing to wait for what I wanted in/on my X5 and not have things removed like they did during the pandemic.

Agreed. If I have to wait for all of my options, then it's worth the wait.

My production date moved earlier, from October 3rd, to September 29th for a xDrive45e. It's still on code 150 though. Will post later if I see any relevant updates.

Woke up today to see a bitter 111 where I was hoping to see 150
Originally was week 41, then pushed to week 43 then back to 41 and IDK which week I’m on now
Given update happened between 11p yesterday and 6:30 am ET assuming it’s some sort of a robot queue manager
I have a 45e with pretty much everything but the leather seats and fancy breaks
Live on the east coast so not worried about getting it before EOY but sure is a disappointment as I was hoping to get it out on the road before bad weather settles in

Upd: Week 46 O_o

When did you get the Production Number/allocation?

Early September - I've put in a request with a local dealer who had allocation available for October. Got the number immediately

Yep, woke up to 111 as well. Most likely week 46 then.

Just called Genius and got a week 41 on my 45e.

Two things..
what seems to be the normal turn around from production week until it's at the dealerships? (For reference I'm in Missouri)

Will I regret not getting the M Sport? I liked the look of the xLine and couldn't tell much difference other than body.. am i missing something?

My order:
45e
xLine
MGM w/ Congac seats
Executive Package
Driving Assist Package
Climate Comfort Package
Parking Assist Package
21" - 744 wheels
Running boards
Trailer hitch

Ordered on 9/13 with production number assigned that day.

Called BMWG to verify the production date and it was once again delayed an additional week. I am now scheduled for week 45. I went from 40 to 41 to 44 and now 45. The tax credit deadline is not looking good at the moment. Holding my breath for a positive change.

Given your model and build it is just aesthetics.

I'm positive I saw some aerodynamic updates included in the M Sport package, unless it's been already established that they're absolutely cosmetic only!

W45-46 is really cutting it close for us in the west coast. Assuming a 4 week transit + 2 week buffer for uncertainties. I guess as long as our vehicle in-service date is within this year W52 are we still ok?

AFAIK, the running board is not available for the M-sport. If you prefer the x-line and want the running board, go with it and save 3K. My wife also preferred the x-line.

That is the naming of the MSport fascia/sides not necessarily anything more aerodynamic than xLine.

Mine went back again and now shows wk46 schedule, LoL. It was Wk41 allocation, which got to 40, then moved around a lot and now 46. Am sure it is going to show an earlier week in two days. But this movement is fun to watch… either way, if I can't take delivery this year will cancel and get 24' model. Will enjoy this tracking ride meanwhile

46 yikes that seems like a new record.

I talked to Genius over the weekend and was told week 45. Up from 40 originally. This is for a 45e so not entirely surprising.

I keep reading about the dreaded west coast transit times of 4 weeks+. What are people seeing for Mountain West? (Asking because I'm in New Mexico and I'm trying to determine cutoff week where I think about / pursue backup plan)

Sorry re-posting from my other thread as many here are concerned about delayed Production weeks.

I did some analysis regarding Order received to delivery times (especially 45e) based on comments posted and some message replies received (Thanks to everyone who replied back!). Checked around 30+ postings to get a meaningful sample space.
1. On an average it is taking 40 days (1-2 months) from the data of Production # received to Actual Production started/In Assembly line.
2. Once in Assembly line it is taking 8-14 days for delivery (of course if you are in West coast its longer)

So if 60 days have passed since you got the production # and still your car did not enter production then that is generally an anomaly.

Hope this helps in making a guess regarding expected delivery of your vehicle.

Thank you for the analysis. I'm only concerned because it seems recently many have been delayed by up to a month, at least, assuming due to shortages. Prior to this that 40 days seemed accurate now though we may get close to our production week, which for myself went from 39 to 45, only to find it slip yet again to Week 2, in which case I would cancel and wait for a 24.

You got pushed back all the way to Week 2 of next year?
