‘24 X5M compared to the ‘23 M50 X5
Hi all,
I wanted to provide my review of the new rig after about 2 weeks of having the X5M. The M50 is a nice car and has plenty of power but the handling during aggressive turn ins is lacking. I found that I seldom wanted to push it in corners. The ride was comfortable but a bit too soft for my taste. Note: I’ve had a couple of M3’s and my favorite was the F10 M5. The X5M is really fun to drive. It turns in amazingly. I find my wanting to push it in corners and it delivers in spades. The power is amazing and the overall feel of the car is just sporty. It sounds great, louder than the M50. The interior improvements are a big step forward also. The screen, seats, and leather touches make it feel very upscale. The suspension is firmer but that’s to be expected and in the softest setting it’s very nice. The major improvement has to be the handling. I think the wheels have a bit more camber so the car turns in and doesn’t understeer which is amazing. Overall I love the new rig and I find the increase in price to be worth it! Pics below. Dravit Grey/Red interior. |

Lol, I can relate to that parking job. Also the rest of your comments: There is some negativity here for the LCI update and I tend to agree with a lot of it. On the other hand the car is plain fun to drive and it isn't just willing; it encourages your inner hooligan at all times.
I guess I don't get to define what an M car should be, but I would say that in it's general demeaner, it's what I would have done if I was in charge. Although I would have definitely changed a few things like leaving the start/stop and other programming functions that they will never monetize outside of the walled garden. And I'm not fond of the cheap shots for every nickel, like removing the seat drops. But the core driving experience, it's solid. |

Congrats on the X5M. I still love mine and its going on 4 years now....
The power between the M50 and the X5MC gotta be immense considering when I had a friendly run with the new LCI M60 where I had a full load in the car with snowboard racks on the roof and he was solo I walked away from him easily. M50/M60 is a quick X5 where as the X5MC is more like a big M3/M5.

Congrats and enjoy. I tuck myself in when I park too. Never take 2 spots. But still idiots find a way to get right next to me. Here’s an example from last summer when I still had my red M3. I’m not going to post publicly how that ended.

Love the color! I had a 2023 M50i in Dravit with Silverstone that was totaled in September. I didn't want to wait the 4-6 weeks to get an ordered unit so I took an incoming 2024 M60i in Skyscraper grey. I'm kicking myself every time I see a Dravit X5. Enjoy, it's beautiful.

I basically park in the next town over and take Uber... Yeah, it's bad. But dents are worse! |
