Call another Genius since you got bad information. Either your build week is 24 or it is Week 26. It takes about 4 hours to build so there is a two week difference in what they said.

My guess is that you are Week 24 but best to call and verify.

Yesterday I was told that they were waiting for a part and that I should be able to pick it up today or tomorrow. Today there was no change. My CA couldn’t find out what the part is. The tech told him that all he was told was to take the car off the rack, and that he didn’t know what part they were waiting for. Looks like I will have to talk to a manager tomorrow.

I just ordered my 50e here in the UK. After searching online I see theres no way to track the build here, I just have to get the order number from the dealer and ask the online chat for an update? Dealer has said I'm looking roughly a end of Sept delivery, which I was expecting of course.
The wait begins......

Geez…. Thanks for keeping us posted. You’ve suffered enough already, this isn’t fair.

Problem requires a temperature control module replacement which is being accomplished as I’m typing this. It turns out the problem presented as a CEL. The generated code, which would clear, had to do with high voltage related to the module. It replaces the thermostat, among other things, and controls valves for temperature control functions. The showed me a video of the module as the shop is off limits. Liability attorneys would have magically appeared if I set foot on the shop floor. Should get it tomorrow or Friday barring any other issues. Fingers crossed.

I ordered a fully loaded 50e on March 27. I called Genius and was given a build date of Week 24. My dealer originally told me that he expected it around September so I was happy with the mid-June date. Hope to see it delivered by early July.

I'm also in central NJ, half an hour from you. Placed order on 4/26, build week 21 with prod date 5/20. Hope to get it by memorial day weekend. Didn't get much discount though.

Seems like others had to wait for their prod#, my build sheet (VIR) from dealer (MD) on order acceptance day included prod#. Still did not help getting an earlier build week it seems.

4/25: 111 code
4/25: Prod# rcvd

Genius tells me week 26.

Wow, so you placed your 50e order a month after mine and got a build week three weeks before me. I wonder if the options I ordered accounts for my delay. May I ask which dealer you went through?

It is based on the allocation. Since no allocations were issued in March that would mean he got a previously issued one that someone gave up when the delays occurred. It could have been one issued at the end of October for a December build that was delayed. When a person orders does not correlate to when it will be built, that is determined by the allocation. We have had some folks order and have it built two weeks later. The allocations were a priority 3 and the dealer sold them right before they went 150.

I chose most of the options except for Executive pack and running board, normal color and wheel. I asked 5 dealers around, Flemington is the only one with allocation so went with it.

You're probably right on spot! The sales told me they had 3 spots with 2 already filled only 1 left so I took it. They provided me the production number right after I put down the deposit. When I first entered the number on BMW site, it showed a different configuration than my build, and changed to my build about a day later. The status was already 112 then.

Ordered on March 26th and still waiting on an allocation. I got the impression the Birmingham dealership does not get many 50e allocations. I would have expected more people would be interested.

I would try broker if my local dealer didn't have allocation, plus better discount probably.

I ordered my 50e end of February from BMW of Birmingham. They had an existing allocation for an x6 that they were still able to change and use to submit my order. Granted it originally went in as a ‘24 50e and got switched to a MY25. It’s being built this week. BMW of Birmingham is considered the highest volume store in AL since they’re part of Sonic Automotive, so they do get a decent amount of allocations and are able to trade with other stores they might have in other states. If they don’t currently have any allocations you could tell them that you’ll be taking your business elsewhere and see what they say. Being in Birmingham they know that people will even go to Atlanta to get what they want since they’re a bigger market. We have ordered a custom Mercedes from Atlanta in the past when the store here in Birmingham couldn’t get us an allocation. Best of luck!

llette08 - congrats on yours being in production, that makes me feel better. I'm pretty patient and enjoy my current car. I'm willing to wait a bit longer but at some point will go the broker route.

I have been in this forum since the order just reading posts and am really enjoying it. Friend of mine just ordered a Tesla and is jealous of this forum since he does not know of one for Teslas. (Although surely there is one!)

3/09/2024 - Put down deposit for X5 50e.
4/24/2024 - Received build production number.
5/07/2024 - Code 112 Scheduled for production.
5/17/2024 - Code 150 Build production begins.

Using the F12 trick from My Garage it says that my production date is 6/1/2024

Bit of a delay in our delivery... dealer hadn't charged the vehicle and wouldn't release it until it reached at least 90% so we couldn't take it home yesterday as planned.

They delivered it to our house this morning and the wife is happy. So I'm happy.
