Me too. Since I started driving, I have been use Costco whenever I can, mainly because lower cost. If Costco isn’t available, I use whatever convenient. I definitely won’t target for shell, Exxon, chevron …. If they are where I need gas so be it.
As for Costco gas price, my last fill up at Sunnyvale Costco was 4/6/2024, 91 for $5.279. Last fill up on 4/16/2024 was in Honolulu Costco, 91 was $4.799.

Top Tier gas at the cheapest price in town. What's not to like about this deal? And that doesn't include the 2% rebate on the Costco card. When I was commuting, the rebate more than covered the cost of membership. Now that I'm retired, not so much. But with all my wife buys at Costco, our rebate is still more than the membership.

At the risk of being ostracized…..I’ve been using Sam's Club gas for years. Always premium and often as much as a 50 cents/gallon savings. Never had any issue and I suspect it originates from the same source as Costco.

All gas in a region comes from the same source/sources. The difference is the additive packages.

Yes but it used to be the Polish dog which in my opinion was better. Of course that doesn't me from getting one.

I’ve actually had this conversation with Shiv (the owner of Openflash Performance formally Vishnu). When he was big into tuning N54’s running aggressive timing he did some empirical testing. He found that logs showed more retardation on Costco gas than Shell/Chevron. This was based on the 91 octane gas available in the Bay Area where he lives. Whether this had to do with differences in the gas itself or the additives, I have no idea.
That being said, the last time I owned a tuned car was in my 20’s (and it’s something I never plan to do again). I now exclusively use Costco 91 in both my stock N54 E92 and 958 Cayenne GTS and have never had any fuel related issues.

Four of my cars take premium fuel, most of which comes from Sam's Club, all of which comes from the BP load rack that my buddy works at.
But if necessary I just fill up with 91 octane at whatever place is cheapest or most convenient. In 30 years of driving I've never had a problem so I have removed gas purchases from the list of things I think about.

I wonder how many people actually use the 300+ HP from modern turbo inline6 in daily usage on street frequent enough to tell. I bet 1 out is 10k, and probably illegally. For track or auto sport use, I can see better gas csn make some difference, but then why using street gas for track?? There are always 95/97/99 or even 100+ octane on location. Use up the street gas getting to the event, fill up with high octane gas for the event.

With my old F15, I found that I got better gas mileage with BJ's premium (which isn't Top Tier) compared to Costco premium. I haven't had a chance to test that out with the G05 yet.

Define “better performance”. If a single one of these people can reliably identify the brand of fuel station in a double-blind test, I’ll eat my shorts.

Costco premium fuel killed my Porsche engine. Began to knock, lost power, and was terrible on fuel consumption. Never again. Shell, Chevron, Exxon only in my Bimmer.
