2021 X5 M50i ordered - PICS ADDED!
So, they totaled my 2020 X5 (tree fell on it during a recent storm) and I ordered the 2021 X5 M50i last week. I finally received a production number and it states simply order received on the bmwusa website. I guess with the factory closed 23rd thru the 10th, it will be a while before I have an idea on production complete date...
My spec is: Tanzanite Blue Metallic II with Ivory White/Night Blue Extended Merino Leather 22" M Double Spoke Black Wheels Extended Shadowline Trim Carbon Fiber Trim Front/Rear Seats, Steering Wheel and Arm Rests Heated Space Saver Spare Trailer Hitch Executive Pkg Dynamic Handling Pkg Driver Assistance Pro Pkg Really excited to see how this turns out as I never had the opportunity to drive the M50i package! Thanks for the compliment! Looking forward to experiencing the V8 (not that the 6cylinder was a slouch).
Actually, ordered the exterior color sight unseen. I was going to go with the Phytonic Blue, but, the salesman really thought the Tanzanite Blue looked better. We'll see in a couple of weeks, I suppose... |

My wife is very interested in leasing a very similar build. We saw one at the dealer this morning. Same exterior, same leather. Beautiful combination. Very unique too. It looks special and stands out in a sea of X5s that all look the same.
Not sure about the trim yet --> She is still considering three options: Carbon Fiber, Poplar Matte Wood, Aluminum Tetragon. She is interested in the massaging seat too. Would you be willing to share the numbers the dealer gave you? Discount, Rebate Did you lease it or finance it... or purchase cash? Money Factor, Residual? |

Congratulations and hopefully the wait won't be too bad. Good luck, enjoy and be safe. And stay away from trees.

Total build was $97,995. They knocked off 10%. Cash deal.

You may want to check with them to see if you can change to a finance deal and get the same discount (you should be able to). This way you can finance $15k, get the $2,500 APR Credit and pay it off after three months.

Thanks so much for the compliments. I have finally received an expected completion date of 5 Feb. With the factory holiday shut down, I was expecting worse.
Will definitely post pics. I am taking delivery at the factory, so, should be fun! Happy Holidays everyone! |

The lease is running out on my 2018 X5M, and I pretty much so ordered the same build as you! Differences are no trailer hitch and 21” wheels, but I also added the massaging seats. Mine also shows awaiting a production date for the past two weeks, but the BMW geniuses say that it is a Feb 5 build.
BTW, you got a better discount than me, but I’m in the Bay Area where large discounts are hard to come by. After some haggling, I begrudgingly accepted 8% pre incentive from my neighborhood dealer. I am going to finance this one, so I’m expecting another $3500 of incentives on top of the negotiated 8%. Now, the wait starts. |

You’ll love the ride and the tech by the way. I haven’t driven with the DHP, but I was happy with how the “base” M50i drove overall. Steering was a bit numb, and it wasn’t quite as beastly as my X5M, but it was VERY sufficient for a street vehicle. I also was fortunate enough to see one with Tanzanite exterior and Extended white/blue interior before purchasing...stunning. Needless to say, I was sold.

Well, BMW finally updated the status of my order - the web site now says "scheduled for production". Guess I am still tracking for a 5 Feb completion date.

Curious if you are still scheduled for production or not? We have basically the same build, and I’m week 6. Website has been stuck at scheduled for production with no confirmed prod date for weeks.

Did you ask your dealer or call genius for the build date? They should be able to at least give you the week.

Yes, they both said week 6. I was just surprised that it has yet to enter production and the website/phone recording says “no confirmed production date”.

You didn't get a VIN yet? That part is a little odd if you didn't.

Nope, no VIN. I just emailed the dealer so will report back. IIRC from prior experience, I should be further along at this point, and I agree that a VIN would be nice.

VIN showed up this morning, and it says that production is started! Waiting to hear back from my SA on timing updates, but it does look to be tracking for a week 6 completion. OP, I hope your vehicle is also updated by now.

Nice...congrats! I’m Feb 11 production date currently, and you? We are have the same exterior and interior combo, so curious if we are going to have our vehicles built on the day.

Mine had production completion date of 2/5 initially, then moved up to 2/2. It sat on production begins status till yesterday AM from January 21st. Then moved to enter assembly line all of sudden. This morning it is saying in quality check status. Soon it should be Atlanta!
