45e - Belgium - software version ?
Just wondering what software version the Belgians with a 45e are on ?
Mine is still on 11/2019.70 , and I haven't received any updates in months... Is this the same for others or am I missing something ? |

11.2020 here, installed by the dealership to solve the famous issues with charge speed and sunroof.
did by the way not solve the charge speed issue, and something very strange with the sunroof: It did not solve the issue, had it for weeks after the update. But now since almost 2 months, no more issue, I test it every day. |

car received in September 2020 with version 03/2020.69
got an update at the dealership to 11/2020.31 because I needed Android Auto + fix for dropping charging current (6A instead of 16A)

Got the car 12/2019 with 07/2020.
Updated by the dealer tot 03/2020 in March and 11/2020 in December, never had an OTA of the idrive. Usually they are one software version behind on delivery. I don't think the difference between 07 and 11 is significant. With the newest version of the car you will could some new features like traffic light assistant and Apple car key. I did get location based window openging and edrive zones OTA |

I was upgraded at dealership several times to solve the sunroof issue. Right now I am at 11.2020 i think and they also told me that as soon as the next update is out they will get the car back in to update it.
OTA updates are for smaller updates and the more fundamental ones will be at the dealership. At least, that is what my dealer said. Smaller things are navigation maps, autopilot functionality, ... stuff like that. (his words) Not sure which part is true which is just him not knowing and saying stuff to keep me from googling it :-) |

Another resurrection, but just got my 45e back from the dealer and the software has been updated to 03/2021-30. I looked just before going in and there was nothing available OTA, so just wondering if anybody else has this, or knows where there might be release notes?

Mine was also on 2019/09.70 version.
Contacted ConnectedDrive support, they did some stuff remotely from Germany, didn't solve anything. Went to the dealer to change to summer wheels, they updated me to 2020/11.64 and they did it free of charge as a ticket was opened. If you are on a 2019 version a dealer visit will be required I'm afraid.

So it is very well possible the dealer has an update while you didn't get a notice. I was update to 03/2020 and 11/2020 by the dealer without having any notice from Idrive either. |

I tihnk the OTA is just dead.
I remember years ago having the RTTI suddenly not showing information for part of Belgium, and nobody from BMW knew why. Took 2 months until it worked again, and another 2 months later somebody contacted me to say my problem was related to the servers of BMW and should be fixed...yep, it was ....2 months ago !!! And I raised the problem 4 months ago !. Same here, nobody knows what is happening. Not the dealer, not BMW Belgium and certainly not the Connectdrive support ("Please re-install the app" , "is your app connected to the internet?", suprised they didn't ask me if I was sure I was driving a BMW) I think they are having a s%&@load of problems with OTA's, and just switched it off and are afraid to tell anyone... |

They have been posting quite some "look how good we are doing with OTA updates" The more people that see it the faster they will react... 🤔🤷🏼*♂️ |

I contacted "BMW connected" 2 weeks ago, after doing some tests they forwarded my case to Germany where the answer was :
No update available for your car. Updates depend on brand / type and options. Update should be available soon. I'm now on 2019.11 like most Belgium owners that have their 45e some months. And I received that version OTA. I believe it was on 2019.07 from the factory |
