Depends on the tire compound and use case/driving style. Summer performance tires go quickly as do winters driven in warm weather. Touring tires can go 80,000 miles.
I burn through Pilot Sport 4s at about 12-15k on my Golf R even though they have a 30k treadlife warranty. I expect the Bridgestone Alenzas on my 45e (60k warranty) to last for at least 30k. Horses for courses. |

You will see and feel a difference between the compounds. Braking distances will be longer, turning will be sloppier, and acceleration will break the tires loose/engage traction control sooner (particularly with the V8 of the M50i). In exchange you get the ability to drive safely when temps are below 45 degrees and wet.
You also loose out with staggered tires b/c they can not be rotated between front and rear. As such there is no warranty claim for tread life. If you go the all-season route then try and stick with a 3 season performance version. Will mitigate some of the drawbacks in exchange for giving up snow capability. For the best mix of warm weather performance and tread life drop down to a square set of 20" rims with Pilot Sport SUV tires. Rotate every 5k miles and take advantage of the 30k tread life warranty. Summer/Performance: dangerous when wet below 45 degrees but safe in the dry down to 35. Very susceptible to cracking and require replacement if used below freezing. 3 Season Performance: Good for everything but snow/ice. Less grip compared to summer performance All-Season: Fair at everything good at nothing. Mediocre in snow, dangerous on ice. All Weather: Better than All-Season. Good for 4 season driving and mountain rated. Not good on ice Southern European Winter. Good for 3 season driving (no summer). Ok in warmer/transitional temps, great in snow and slush, ok on ice Northern European Winter. Winter only (no warm weather). Great in snow and ice. Ok on slush and rain. I have about 12k miles on my 22" Contis. Looking at the remaining thread I'm thinking I'll get 20k out of them. When it's time to replace I'll probably look into getting the A/S that are available.

I'm right at 13k. Hopefully I'll make it to 20 also. Have you seen anything other than the Bentley all seasons by perelli?
