IND | BMW F95 X5M / F96 X6M European Aspherical Mirror Set

When you’re on the road, seeing more is vital. Seeing something that you would have otherwise missed could be the difference between a life-altering accident and a normal day. This reality is certainly a driving force behind BMW’s recent technological developments: laser headlights, night vision, etc.

But one area that continues to be overlooked on US-spec vehicles is the flat pane side mirror glass. As BMW vehicles continue to grow in stature, these flat pane mirrors do not allow a wide enough view to anticipate or avoid potential hazards in your periphery.

This is where the European glass equivalent excels. While the inner glass element maintains a flat pane (as to avoid unwanted distortion), the outer glass element is aspherical. This allows you to have a much wider vantage point where you need it most and adds another layer of safety to your daily driving experience.

As a genuine BMW product, both the heating function and blind-spot detection are retained should you have both options available on your vehicle.

Product Details:
  • Fits F95 X5M and F96 X6M models
  • Genuine BMW product
  • Increases angle of view for better visibility
  • Retains glass heating element and blind spot detection (where applicable)
  • Sold as a set of two

Will these work as dimming mirrors on both sides for F95, F96 ?

I installed these mirrors from IND today. Not difficult at all to do. Curiously, though, my iPhone stopped connecting to the car, the Nav system dropped my Home location, and the setting for the interior lights defaulted to the factory setting. There may be other issues I have yet to discover.

I was able to re-pair my phone to the car, manually enter my home location, and reset my preferred color for the lighting.

The question is why did this happen? Would installing these european mirrors on an American car somehow mess things up?

Write simply, no. I’d get the vehicle checked if it is persistent. With all the software in these cars, weird stuff is bound to happen once in awhile.
