New nav destination pop up at start?

My car did an OTA the other day to what I assume is the latest for a ‘21 G05 M50i. Ever since then, when I start the car the BMW nav pops up with a suggested destination like it’s trying to predict where I want to go. Problem is, Ive never been to this place and I dont want to go there. In fact I never use the BMW Nav- I use Google Maps or Waze in CarPlay. If you arent looking at the pic, this is different than the notification that used to appear up at the top of the screen that also went away on its own- this one needs intervention to dismiss.

Anyone know whats causing this and how to disable?

Does your wife drive the car? She might have used the BMW app on her phone to send a destination to the car.

At least in my X5 50e running 8.5 that is not normal behavior. One wonders if a reboot of the system and/or smartphone apps will end it. (Although as you note, that isn't the usual little notice that 8.5 displays in the upper left screen when it has been sent a destination. Rather, it looks more like a search made once the navigation program is already running with a different destination set.)

I have the same problem, it always starts with a random location and always seems to be the same one. Never used app to send any address. Curious to see why

You probably have on your "Learning Route" in navigation - it shows you possible destinations based on driving habits. To deactivate:

1. Go to Navigation screen
2. Settings (on right side of nav screen)
3. Configure services
4. disable Learning route to deactivate the function.

I setup myBMW app to connect with my calendar (iOS) and it would pick up address of upcoming calendar event. The problem is the location would still pop up after the date of the calendar event. So I disconnect it (i.e. no access to calendar) and the "problem" disappeared. So, give that a try.

If she sends it from the app, it will be tied to her profile. You wouldn't see it while your profile is active.

Have you accepted the destination? If not, try that and maybe it will go away.

Recently I start to see the exact same thing, the car suggests a destination at startup even though I didn't send any destination in MyBMW. I then realized that the car is suggesting a destination for an upcoming event in my Google Calender. Not sure why the integration is not checking the dates... typical BMW software solutions!

I’ll check the calendar integration on the app. My wife doesnt use the app or the car, so I wonder if it’s some funky thing like youre saying.

I'm an M5 owner and this started happening to me also. I disconnected access to calendar in my iphone settings and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for this.

For those having problems this is what I did:

1. Settings Icon(Iphone)
2. Scroll down to My BMW(Tap to go to next screen)
3. Uncheck Calendars

Thanks for this suggestion. I suspect that an update to the My BMW app has caused the permission to Calendar to be enabled. I'm on Android so I went to Settings/Apps/My BMW and disabled the calendar access. We'll see if that fixes it.

It wasn't fixed after removing Calendar permissions. Today I disabled Route Learning and that seems to have eliminated the pop-up.

Disabling Route Learning didn't work. Disabling calendar permissions didn't work either :/ The destination I get is half way around the world in the UK (I'm US): Orange Blossom Clinic, 32 Sandy Ln, Woodbridge IP12 4DG, United Kingdom.

On the app, you can see calendar addresses but none of it is for the UK.

Edit: I refreshed the calendar destinations on the BMW App to reflect no destinations. That seem to have done the trick.
