Seeking Advice on a Used X5M Purchase
Hey everyone,
I've been scouring the market for a used X5M and stumbled upon this listing: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5YMJU0C08M9H08304 Before making any commitments, I wanted to reach out and ask if there are any red flags or common issues I should be aware of with this particular model. Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! |

I'd pass simply due to the amount of brake dust on the wheels. You're selling a luxury vehicle for $75k and you can't take an hr to clean the wheels? I'm anal w my vehicles, that'd be enough for me to walk away.
Yes,I know most of y'all will think that is a ridiculous&I'm crazy, but I'm sure there are a few like me that concur

I don't know about any red flags or common issues but if there is one thing I would've done differently its I would've gathered up all my mods and had them installed all in one shot. As oldgixxer mentioned these are horrendous with brake dust but Isweep dust free brake pads fix that right up. I wish I wouldve known about them sooner def recommend.

I think that one has been in the market for some time now, at least since Oct, Nov last year...the dirty wheels rings a bell.

OP……looks as if it has a set of Pirelli Scorpion Winters on it as well. At least one tire is as there is a close up shot of it, gotta assume all four are. Not that that is the end of the world but something to be considered if purchased.

just went through this myself. aside from spec, the biggest thing i looked at was making sure that it had its breakin service on time. BMW won't certify used cars that haven't, so that should tell you what they think about getting it done.
that one does have a service record at 1500 miles, but the description just says some sort of repair. i'd call up BMW Rockville, and just plain ask if they have a record of the service being done. Technically they don't have to provide that to you, but if you ask nicely they will (or at least have for me).
