Curious to see if it’s been done before? I like the cleaner look of no tint. Did that on my F31 touring.

Eveything backward from behind the front - it's dyed glass...not a film removal....going to be one expensive MOD to go to clear

Yeah understood about the glass not having film.

Similar to back dating G Wagons-wondering if glass can be ordered clear.

Many countries don't allow any tint (including a new vehicle from the factory) on any of the windows. So yes, clear glass is available, but it will cost a small fortune.

That's an interesting approach—no tint. Have seen them a lot in Europe. For me, the more the tint, the better. But, if you do get to the no-tint, please post pics...would be very curious.

I'd cry at what the UV rays would do to my interior. Tint is more than just looks for me.

Not sure this is right. Believe that UV filtering and tint are separate concepts. The windshield is clear and still filters out UV…

I just picked up an X5 yesterday. Is it easy for tint shops to match the dyed glass?

You may be able to do a special order , maybe via bmw individual potentially. Speak to your dealer and request it via that . Can’t see why it couldn’t be done if there is a will. No doubt there is an extra cost .

that’s their job! I believe the privacy glass is about 20% (let’s in ~20% of outside light). you want to make sure going that dark on the front driver/passenger windows are allowed in your state. for example, Virginia’s is 35% for those front windows and none whatsoever on the front windshield
