Are these build options really correct? It seems that if I want the Driver Assistance Package it's forcing me to upgrade to the M Sport design but the M Sport option forces the removal of the 2-axle air suspension!
So there's no way to have the DAP as well as air suspension? That seems very strange... |

By all means DO IT! That's what I did and the M60i might be the best all around vehicle I've ever had inclusive of BMW, Porsche, Audi and MB. I now have 8200 trouble free miles with smiles on it. You won't regret it.

dunno - I can't build on 2025 xDrive 40i with DAP and the air suspension. I think I was able to replace the 22" with 20" though after indicating air suspension.

Poor programming, hopefully they will get the bugs worked out in a few weeks.

Yea I was able to work around it. I think I screwed up and selected the 20in m sport wheels so it naturally was removing the air suspension bc of that. I’ve since built with 20in stock wheels and air.

It looks like the illuminated kidney grille is now available for $500 as a standalone option on the non-sport models. I didn't see this last year when I ordered my 2024.

I'm a bit concerned because someone in another thread ordered a 40i this morning and wasn't able to get air suspension. They didn't list that they were getting MSport (I ask and am waiting for the answer) so hopefully they haven't pulled the air suspension from the 40i like they did last year.

For MY24 it was only available as an option on the 40i's.

Any differences at all between 2024 and 2024
I read they added lane change assist but did BMW change anything else? Did they improve anything at all that was causing issues previously even if a small revision? Thanks

Nothing that has been mentioned or seen other than the 552 headlights now being standard.

The builder would have a rules engine, and then it's then just up to some person to have a config file with the rules, which then gets properly QAed. If this is the same level of software development and QA that is in their cars, it's no surprise we see the issues we do. It's not clear to me that car companies have grokked that in the same way they hire the best mechanical engineers they need to be now hiring the best software engineers. Perhaps it's a cost thing, and they're just not willing to pay $250K plus for the top software engineers, because the top mechanical engineers are much cheaper. |
