Ordered X6

I wanted to know once you pay the 1k deposit so I have to still buy the vehicle from the same dealer/salesman? I feel like my dealer doesn’t want to give me all the perks I qualify for? For example I received 4k off for being a Navy Fed member but the military also have an extra 4k off that can be combined with the Navy Fed for being in the military or family member of military.

Sounds like you assume you qualify for $8k due to navyfed and military discount. Those 2 are just one and the same. Its only $4k max.

Yes I assume that because of what I was told from my bank and the writing.

I had the same thought process before as well. But in the end, Navyfed will give you a cert/code that is the same as the cert you get when you process your military discount thru ID.ME, i think navyfed also uses id.me so same process, just different way of getting it or proving that you qualify for military discount.

In my experience, the $1,000 has been refundable. It is more likely to be if your vehicle isn’t outside the norm on options, as they can easily find another buyer.

Also, as already posted here, my understanding is that there are 2 ways to verify the military incentive: 1) ID.me and 2) Navy Fed. It is the same discount/incentive regardless of which way you verify your eligibility. So, you should run into this same “issue” regardless of what dealership you use.

That wording is correct, you are just misunderstanding the incentive. We are talking about BMW's Domestic Military incentive. There are a number of ways to qualify for it and one of them is to be an NFCU member for at least 60 days.

There are three ways to get the certificate for the incentive, TrueCar's military site, BMW's military incentive page (I don't recommend using this method) and NFCU's car buying site which is hosted by TrueCar.

Do you know how the 60 days is checked? Looks like my vehicle is arriving about a week before my 60 days of membership, but I do already have the link and form from the Navy Federal Buying Service (Truecar).

If you have the certificate then you are fine. When PenFed was dropped and NFCU became a partner they didn't institute the checking for the 60 days. When PenFed had it, you didn't get the link to print the certificate until you reached the 60 day membership mark. With NFCU it seems to be available as long as you can log in using Plaid.
