I think the performance is better, not oem, but pretty close.

Wow, just saw this thread.

I just picked up 2021 X5 xDrive40i about 2 months ago.
I have been working with a japanese company on brake pads for my X3MC and it has been a success.

So, when I got this G05, I knew that it is also a problem.
I have been testing couple compounds and so far has been good.
I like the current compound better since it has better bite even though more dust (bust still less than stock) than the first compound that I've tested for 2000+ miles.

I am almost done with the testing, but here is a picture of my car during December road trip with the low low dust compound.
In this picture, car hasn't been washed for about 1 week and about 1000 miles.

r33_RGSport Nice looking ride! I'm curious which rack that is and if it would fit a snowboard and skis?

are these the ones that'll fit 2021 G05 w/M Sport brakes? (based on those part numbers from the boxes you pictured):

I know this is gonna be a case of "dude do a search" or "read the whole thread" but aside from the consensus of "use Power Stop 16-1868 Front and 16-1469 Rear" Can anyone else confirm additional part numbers or brands that fit my 2020 M50i with the M Sport Brakes please? I gotta admit this thread is pretty confusing with so many replies and alternatives but yet nothing specific or definitive.

I don’t have a dust problem at all with my M brakes, but I got the wheels and callipers coated with G-techniq crystal serum. The dust doesn’t stick

I also had my wheels and calipers ceramic treated, the look great now but I haven’t even washed it yet. I have my fingers crossed!

I've been using GTechniq CSL top coated with EXO v4 for years. The dust still sticks. Then when you wash it you have a Black Sea of dust on your driveway that stains the concrete.

$650? I'll need to dig a little deeper. the product links I provided above were the ones that came up when I searched the part numbers on those boxes (they weren't exact; both were missing the last zero), and neither these or ones on other sites were close to $650.

The M sport brake option from BMW was $650. The cost of the pads aren't $650. You can get them from rock auto for around $100

My apology, just saw your post.
It is Thule Motion XT XL.
I believe snow board should fit.

Here is the side shot.

My brake testing got delayed.
Been having high wind (where it blow dusts all over the car) and followed by a few rains.

I just need 2 weeks of no rain after wash, so I can check the brake dust.

Love to hear your feedback on the Centrics vs the PowerStops.

Thanks

No clicking noise, they're definitely quieter. Stopping is a little more improved.

How's the dust level between the 2?

So to confirm, this is what you're using and are saying is much improved yes?

The Posi Quiet Ceramics are the proper fit for the G05 with M Sport brakes.
The front pad shift is gone and so is the clicking sound.
(I went through the Power Stop pads and the Bendix Ceramics, and both sets had the front shift and clicking sound).
Now the Posi Quiet Ceramics are not as “grabby” as the stock pads and they do require an increase of foot pressure to achieve comparable stopping power, but it’s no different from the Power Stop or Bendix pads... call it the characteristic of ceramics if you like.

The positives of not having wheels caked with brake dust after every drive is enough attraction for me to make the switch. That’s just me

Good luck with the decision.
