Retrofit buttons for seat memory
Hi all,
My 45e will be delivered without the seat memory for the passenger seat (change for my22), which I think is pretty bad. I use that frequently on my G32. Also the button for the passenger seat control on the drivers side is canceled. Does anybody know if it's easy to change the unit? Obviously coding will be also needed. Do I have to remove the door panel for changing? Thx |

Hi Pattru Picking up my 45e in a few weeks (2022) and have heard nothing of the changes you mentioned. Can you confirm what seat/package you ordered? I am getting the Luxury seat package. This may be a non-US change I guess.

They are canceling a lot of "non necessary" features because of the chips shortage issues...so they will keep them only for more high end options and /or cars like 7 series, X7, M Cars etc.

I'm surprised thay they are removing these features on high end X5 like the 45e....but if you don't have the memory seat how the seat is going to be adjusted, by hand? I don't get it...it the seats have the electrical adjustments I don't see how removing a memory button will have to do with the chips shortage...
but to respond to your question it will not be easy to retrofit this feature considering all the missing parts, wiring, coding, IDrive integration etc... |
