19 inch Tire Suggestions

For my new rims I would like some decent rubber but not break the bank.

My choices come down to:

1. Yoko Advan Sport
2. Yoko ADVAN Neova AD08
3. Toyo's
4. General's

The rim would be a VMR v701 19.8.5 front, 19.9.5 rear and the tire sizes would be 235/35 and 265/30.

Any help selecting would be appreciated. Driving input/wear etc would also be appreciated.

To a degree yes but at the same time, you may be wasting your money buying the most expensive tire you can find. For instance, I went with PS2s for a street car and while they were FANTASTIC tires, they were over $300 ea and I could never realize the maximum performance benefit on the street without seriously risking the my personal safety and the safety of those around me.

Given those choices, I would stick with one of the Yokos. They are a solid performer for the street and can work in track situations if you are a weekend warrior. Generals are a solid bang for your buck if you are on a budget but if you have the extra cash, it's worth it to spring for Yokos.

Not sure how you are considering Generals and also considering Neova? They're not even in the same ball park.

So I am assuming the Neova's are a couple of steps above the General but below the Yoko Advan Sport?

I was asking about the Generals because they are one of the tires offered in the wheel and tire package from EAS.

Has anyone ordered from EAS btw? Good/Bad stories?

what is a better replacement for generals? i have them now and got 10k miles out of the rear but they are very slick, especial in the rain. but you cant beat an avg $170 a tire with good economy. is there anything else out there that is similar to pirce with better traction but good wear ratings?

I never noticed much road noise. They were 10x quieter than the Generals I had previous to them... nice and sticky too. I thing they're a good happy medium between better performance but not as pricey as PS2's
