Another one to consider, RaceChip GTS Black.
I have a great feedback in F90 M5 platform and F9x M8 platform.
Has anyone tried the Race chip in the F95 X5M Comp? They say 119 HP+ and 120 TQ+ all for $750.

Thanks,

Nick
I've sold a few sets.
I also have dyno-ed on local customer's car.
I post the dyno result on one of the thread regarding RaceChip.
The advertised number is crank hp, my dyno result is wheel hp.

BR-Performance are some of the best in the business in the BMW world. On a Euro spec M50i (with OPF sensors and secondary cats), they were able to get 680hp, and 750nM.

On my M50i (US spec), they were able to get 690 and 928nM. (Mine is the white one at the bottom of the page). US Spec vehicles only have cats in the DPs.

https://www.br-performance.be/en-be/...51-xdrive-m50i

The same company, tuned an X5M, and was able to get 700hp and 850nM on a Euro spec X5M. I "think" the extra 10hp over my car is because the X5M has a higher redline:
https://www.br-performance.be/en-be/...4-v8-bi-turbo/

These are aggressive tunes, with fuel injectors nearing their max flow capacity. With a US Spec X5M, you might get 710 chp... maybe 715 MAX.

Catless downpipes... aftermarket exhaust, intake upgrades? Sure.... definitely more. But in stock form..... I would be very skeptical of anyone claiming 750chp on a stock vehicle. 850chp?? No way.
Advertised HP figures don't matter as much as deltas.
Their 850hp is not that hard to believe because a lot of folks have dyno'ed their cars and showed that the car was actually producing 700hp (crank) instead of 617hp claimed. BMW is known to "under rate" their cars, or they just use a different rating than others.
So if 700chp is stock, 850chp after a tune is not too hard to believe, especially when using a HP happy dyno.

But again, I'd rather see deltas than final results. I want to see:
Before: 570whp.
After: 670whp.

I'll take that over any 850hp claim.

Dinan is worth waiting for in my opinion. In the meantime this thing is plenty of fun to drive 🥳 Spoke to Dinan last week and they are hard at work....shortly after the M5 tune comes out, X5M will follow. Expected mid-late 2021 (don't quote me as I have no real idea just picking up on the vague hints I was given)..with hardware to follow.

Turbobusa I believe the speed limiter without the M driver's package is 155mph. I don't foresee ever hitting it on public roads.
Nah, not in the States.... . 155 is overkill on public roads unless you're looking to give your license away. My F97 comp was tuned and unlimited in Europe. I test drove the F95 comp last week and was, comparatively speaking, underwhelmed (stage 2 tuned F97 to a stock F95) but maybe I missed something in the test drive. Ordered the F95 anyway last week and downpipes today. Looking forward to properly tuning it in the future when they crack the code on this nut.

Have it installed. Easiest setup and conservative enough vs other tunes.
Run my F95 on track days, its hard for cars to pass me, until we have to turn; then i feel like im driving a semi.

Exactly, ill wait for Dinan or CarBahn. I may be wrong, but i don't think these tunes reduce safety parameters in the software in an attempt to extract more power. Not commenting on the piggy back chips cause i don't know about those. I believe Dinan & CarBahn have ''safe tunes'' if there is such a thing.

I have always been under the impression that Dinan tunes are done within all of the factory safeguard ratings for vehicle components. Couple that with the fact that they used to essentially partner with BMW by having a presence in some dealerships and offer the same coverage as the manufacturer warranty with history to back it...🚫🧠'r to me 😂...but to each their own!

This is an actual flash.

As for piggy back, there's race chip and JB4 - both pretty much the same. Install is extremely simple (two top mounted sensors, then run OBD2 wires thru the firewall into the cabin).
I don't see it taking more than 15 min.

My F85 X5M was tuned by BM3. I had no complaints other than hating the burble / backfiring tune. I would rather do piggy-back to preserve warranty. Dealer was able to see that the car was flashed 20+ times even though I would always flash back to stock and RE-lock the ECU. So don't believe any of the "you can go back to stock and they won't see it" horse sht.

I'm looking for an exhaust more than a tune honestly. The car is super quiet. Even my wife commented on that (F95 X5M CP).

I cut out my center RES and did a custom midpipe and it sounds fantastic it was just the right amount burble at low end and when I'm to the floor it cackles at every shift .

Do you have pictures? Sound clips or videos? I'm very interested because that's all I want. Burbles and pops without a tune or new exhaust.

Has anyone been following what the M5/M8 platform to see how robust (or not) this platform is when tuned?

I haven't been but I've come across a few posts where their engine blew up while tuned. One guy even had his engine go because he didn't do his 1200 mile break in oil change until way later.

I feel like every BMW engine has a weak link and i don't think anyone here wants to find out what it is the hard way lol

Yup I'm keep close tabs myself. I noticed there is a group out there wanting to push the 1100hp to 1200hp range with new turbos and tunes but not touch the lower engine. This is causing issues, I've yet to see any of the mild or typical tunes let go though. I know a few M5's running over 1200hp but they are built for it. It seems like the daily driving sweet spot for a stock 4.4 s63 is nothing more than 900hp. Now I take in account the weight of the X5 and say 800hp is probably my limit without pulling the motor and doing a bottom up rebuild. Just my thoughts on observations of whats out there in the wild...

This question may be sacrilege- anyone have experience with the eco tune on racechip? Those mpg gains real? Any tangible risk to lugging the engine etc
