Alpine White XLine 40i color match plastic trim

Got tired of the black plastic trim so had it color matched. Thinking of painting all the chrome black or at least the rear skid plate. Any thoughts?

I like the look of it as is -- not sure if I'd paint the rear skid plate black, IMO it goes well with the satin silver finish on your exhaust and front trim by the fog lights. Even the wheels match.

Btw... what are your side emblems / badges? I noticed it in this pic:

Thanks, maybe I’ll paint the area right above the skid plate, a la the M-sport although the bumper sticks out way to much for my liking in the Xline. The emblems are from an old game Mass Effect which I was a huge fan of. I like the emblems and all my cars have had at least one ever since

Hi! I REALLY want to do the same thing to my 2021 X5. Can you explain how you did this and where you got it done? I notice this post is from last year, how has it held up? Thank you!

Looks great. Did they have to remove the bumper to pay the black bumper trim?
And how about all four wheel/fender trims?
Were they painted on the car?
How much was it, if you don’t mind sharing.
Thank you in advance.

I had a local body shop do it. They removed rear, front bumper, and all the plastic trim on fenders and sides in order to prep the plastic for a good paint job. They price was pretty reasonable about ~$1K and the paint job has held up perfectly over the last year - including a 5,000 mile 20 state road trip including some dirt gravel driving.

That's a really cheap price for that much work honestly.

It looks good. I'd definitely make the silver trim black.
