IND sells color matched replacements. This is something I’m considering when I take delivery, but unsure how easy of a mod it is.

IND color-matched rear reflectors are very easy to swap in. Their color-matched front reflectors are a much bigger pain to install as you need to navigate the wheel well liner and wheel arch trim to get access to swap them.

On the front reflectors do you have to buy the replacement rivets they sell and the gun, or is that to just make the install easier?

Another option is to order a color match (close) film from www.lamin-x.com

I'm not 100% certain as I asked my SA to take care of the front reflector install for me at the dealership before I took delivery. I don't know if they cut out and replaced the rivets or took a different approach to get it done.

I am guessing that removing and replacing the rivets makes access much easier so if I were going to DIY, I'd definitely get them.

The guys at IND are super helpful and have answered many questions for me over the years about a ton of different items; If you reach out to them, I'm sure you'd get the real scoop

If you are willing to DIY then it's less than 10 mins per reflector. You will need black vinyl tape (lucky your car is black . ) and a sharp blade knife. It's easy to pry/pop out the reflector and apply the vinyl tape. If also doing the front reflectors, I would just vinyl them in place carefully and deliberately using the tape below.

EDIT: Here is an image on mine blacked out as described above.

I covered my black x5’s rear reflectors with black vinyl wrap. Looked professional.

I've got a guy in Houston that spray tints with thinned auto paint. Looks great.
