Front Windshield Tint
Anyone regret tinting their front windshield? How is night driving? I am considering 55%, but have never tinted my windshield on previous vehicles. Currently have the front 2 side windows at 15% ceramic.

One day you’ll likely get old. Like me. 15% sounds incredibly, blindingly dark. Even 55% sounds restrictive. If you’re not gonna keep the car til you’re old or know you’ll sell it to a young person, the heat rejection and cool factor will be great.

I have 80% & it doesn't affect my night driving at all. It does provide a tad bit of glare & heat reduction + 99% UV rejection. And you can't tell it's there....it's very light. I have zero regrets.

The only times I remember I have the windshield tinted are sunny days when I leave my sunglasses at home. We do it on all our cars now along with a darker banner at the top. Never a single regret. It’s funny how in pictures it looks so dark but really I don’t think it is noticeable when in the car.

I have astigmatism and the ceramic tint on the front windshield is a life saver, especially at night! 70% on the front, but you can’t even tell it’s tinted. The reduced heat, glare, UV light was well worth it and all of my vehicles will be undergoing windshield tint from this point forward.

I'm going to do it, but with the most transparent tint I can find. I did Llumar on the windows of the front doors but will probably do Xpel on the windshield, because the Llumar stuff has a slight blueish look and it seems that the Xpel doesn't have a color to it at all.
Also planning on doing the panoramic sunroof and rest of the windows at the same time to cut the heat transfer. |

i did 35% windshield and front windows to match the stock rear (18-20%). Hardly noticeable for darkness in all driving conditions but looks great outside and helps tremendously for me while driving. Have done it on all my cars and my wife as well now. Zero regrets

I have 70 to 80% also on the front windshield it’s something I can never live without again I’ll have it on every car I own from now on the heat rejection In the non-glare on my eyes driving in the daytime is amazing. Specially, in bright daylight. I had the windshield and the two front windows done when I first purchased the car that recently took it back and put more tint to the rear doors, and back glass for heat rejection due to own windows have no Heat rejection this is made a huge difference. I would suggest to other people don’t hesitate to tent over the rear glass with like 70% ceramic.

I tinted my front windshield with Llumar Air 80 with 99% UV / IR and excellent heat rejection for tint that is basically clear. You won't notice it's there but am so thankful that I have it, especially on hot sunny days.

How does the windshield tint do with polarized sunglasses? When I wear my polarized shades, I can see oddities in some tints. Some are really bad, others just color distortions. Really just like the clarity of the windshield.

I did air80 from Pinnacle and have zero issues with HUD and it will prevent fading!

I was speaking more about the application and removal. Our inspections are yearly and no tint is allowed on the windshield. Wondering if...
1. The inspectors can tell 2. If the sticker will easily come off |

gotcha. if they are the plastic kinds that easily peel it wont be a problem. if they are the kind that have adhesive you will need goo gone for it. can still be done though as my dashcam came off my last car with windshield tint without a problem after goo gone but was a bit of a pain because i was being so careful. you can also look into buying the suction cup kind if its the adhesive ones.

I did Nanoceramic tint, 70% on the windshield, back windows, rear window and glass roof, that is the best heat rejecton film my installer offers, the point being lowering temperatures under the sun. And did 35% on the front windows trying to match the rears and to stay within local tinting regulations.
It is a little dark entering underground parking lots, specially wearing sunglases, but other than that, I find it very comfortable and that Nanoceramic 99% UV rejection keeps the interior from UV damage for many years. |
