Went to pick up my 25 today and they found an engine overheat fault. Engine has to cool for further diagnosis and/or reprogramming. Could be a sensor, module, or something else. The foreman had worked on my previous 24 50e, and in no way was going to release this one to me. My previous issues all had to do with the hybrid powertrain. At least this was different. Maybe krypttic will have better luck.

We had someone else post the other day that they picked up their MY25 50e and were told that it had faults. Not looking too good so far for the MY25's, hopefully that turns around.

I remember that one now. If the new one presented with the kind of HV and drivetrain faults similar to my previous one, I would have walked. No money is changing hands until this is resolved

That makes sense, good luck.

Eek. Mine just arrived at the dealer for detailing, programming, and delivery prep. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Is scanning for error codes part of the dealer inspection before delivery?

I have not heard that it is but maybe some do. Just like you mentioned programming (assuming you mean updating iDrive), that is not part of PDI but when bugged enough some dealers may do it.

I put down my deposit on Fri 3 May and on Mon 6 May I got the production number. I was initially told ~3 months, now anticipated delivery end of June, which if true, would be about 7 weeks from production number.

I’d like to know if it was scanned or if a check control message or some other indication showed up. Now I’m more than a little curious why it sat in quality check for a day or two before dispatch.

Any update or are they making you wait into next week at this point?

As the problem was found on Friday afternoon, there wasn’t enough time for the engine to cool enough for diagnosis and/or reprogramming. I’m hoping to get an update tomorrow. We have both experienced issues after reprogramming, so I’m dubious of this being a fix. Temperature was 210 which is within limits, but the foreman rightly wanted to explore it further.

I ordered my 50e mid February. Yesterday, my salesman updated me that they were allocated one 50e for May and I’m now 3rd in line. I guess worst case scenario is an August build start Although I’m a bit nervous now learning about issues from previous model year

Outside of being nervous, I would look at other dealers and see where you can get a quicker allocation.

Getting anxious.. Build was complete and "In Transit" since 4/24, but has been sitting with status "At Railhead" for 2 weeks. I guess Canadian import takes a while?? ugh.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you get a deal from the configurator price at all?
I’m about to pull the trigger on an order and just wondering how hard to push the dealer?
Thanks!

Not applicable to me I’m afraid, lease deal through work. In the past I’ve gone on coast2coastcars.co.uk and priced one up to see what discount they offer then pushed my local dealer for similar.
Any other uk purchasers on here willing to share discount they’ve managed to get?

From what I've read, on build orders, getting anything off MSRP isn't likely, of course depending on financing, cash buy, etc, there is always push pull with numbers somewhere, so who cares really where the savings are, as long as you get some. But where you do stand to gain a little ground is in negotiating freebies. Insist on the dealer throwing in this or that to sweeten the deal. I got a few things thrown in.

Assuming you are talking about the 50e, that has been changing since the postponed builds have been take care of and allocations are available. Looks like about 4% - 7% in most regions. For example, in your area the target seems to be 5%. I think we will see the discount rising to match the 40i in the next few months.

The OP you responded to is in London and they have a different market so hopefully some UK folks chime in.

Thanks for all the responses. Good tip on Coast2Coast, which lead to me to a few other brokers.
I've found it varies from 2% to 5%, so youre spot on.
Glad I took a look at this and will chat with the dealer this week and see what they say.
Dreading my phone being blown up by all these dealers tomorrow now though..!
