Aluminum Trim Mod?

The aluminum trim piece on the dash creates an annoying reflection in the side mirrors in certain light. Anyone find a solution such as a black matte tape or film? See photos.

I'm getting glare from the glossy black fineline dash trim so I have an appt set to get Xpel Stealth matte PPF on all of the glossy trim. Also having them apply glossy PPF to the iDrive screen, even the glossy is supposed to help with finger smudges. The Stealth PPF (or any wrap) should work just fine in your situation as well.

Thanks. I ordered some 1" matte detailing tape and will give it a go. It should be an easy job as there aren't too many odd shapes and corners.
Will post up some photos when I'm done with it.

Will be interested to see it, LDT. I have been considering the exact same work since the day of purchase. Going to try to wrap it matte black to match the surrounding black pieces. First, I need to figure out if you can pry it out or requires any screw removal. But if the tape works....

I wrapped all the gloss piano black in my Audi. The reflections were a literal safety hazard on sunny days. This is less annoying but still problematic.

I ordered this from Amazon. I'll try to apply the tape and trim it as needed without removing the trim piece. Anything beyond that is out of my league and I'll take it to my detailer.

I have the tape but I'm not skilled (or patient) enough to do a proper job. I'll stop by my detailer at some point and have him do it.

Thanks. Once I figure out how to remove the trim, I will give it a shot. Did all the piano black trim in my Audi. Still have some of the wrap in the garage.

I’ve been thinking about this since I picked mine up a couple months ago. Did you go through with the matte Ppf? Can you please post pics if so?

Apparently this cover panel is a single piece for the wood and silver trim. That makes wrapping a lot more difficult.
