Anyone experiencing tire pressure sensor malfunction on M60i with 22 inch wheels?

Haven’t noticed anything. What’s the issue?

There are TPMS test tools…it’s easy and fast to check the sensors. There is only one receiver for all of the wheels, so if they all don’t work, at least with the software I have, it won’t show the status for any of them (which I think is dumb). I bought one long ago when I had four sets of tires with sensors….it will tell you the tire pressure, the temperature, the ID, and the battery level. Depending on use, they tend to last at least 5-years, so a 2024, unless defective, should not have that issue.

TPMS ‘wake’ up by one of three methods (BMW uses the first two):
- movement
- an RF burst from the test tool (and on some systems, the receiver/decoder module)
- a magnetic field (most test tools come with a large magnet to trigger some, mostly older system’s sensors)

TPMS are very fragile and complex. They usually last for around 5 years as someone else mentioned. They are also quite expensive so you better go in using the warranty.

2024 X6M60i with intermittent tire pressure sensor malfunction- dealer said it’s most likely due to a defective module - so a replacement had to be ordered. Just wondering if my situation is isolated.

They’re generally pretty reliable, but BMW doesn’t make them. That’s what warranty is for. Infant mortality happens…it’s a fact of life and why there’s a warranty.
