We traded in the wife's RR Velar yesterday for a G06 M50i and I plan on coding the car tonight with BimmerCode.

On my F15 we just pop in a dvd and play videos for the kids. Since the G06 doesn't have a cd tray I'm assuming I have to play videos via usb drive.

I'm curious to find out what format do the videos need to be in order to play them.

I'm confused how the Velar fits into it- did you buy the BMW to tow the RR to the garage

The BMW videos will work as mp4 and mkv containers.

I've used h264 and h265 codec films without issue.

Holy shit that first post was all butchered. Now sure how that happened?

Is there anyway for me to copy my iTunes movie library or rip the dvds or Blu-ray's I have now?

Ah got it now

There's lots of ways to convert dvd/blurays to mkv/mp4. Google the options, it usually takes a fair bit of time to convert them.

Handbrake is a popular choice.

New to this one... And these videos play in the main screen in the front? And while driving, or does that require coding? Given there is no CD/DVD slot, is there a HDD you can copy music/vid files to, or was that done away with as well?

Yes play on the main screen. Needs coding if you want video in motion.

I plug a usb stick/drive into the usb c port in the armrest loaded with movies.

And regarding HDD, it depends on model year: MY2019 and MY2020 yes, MY2021 no, MY2022+ is anyone's guess (probably no). USB flash drives work in all of them, both USB-C in the armrest storage as well as USB 3 slot in the mid console cubby. There is also Miracast Screen Mirroring for Android devices.
