Hey everyone!

My 25’ X5 M60i has finally arrived as of last week Thursday. Still haven’t picked up unfortunately.

Do you think it’s reasonable that I would ask & negotiate to keep my original 2024 price even though the car flipped to a 2025 build because of manufacturer timing NOT my choice. My SA didn’t even realize it flipped to a 25 until I called him about 3 weeks before production began.

I feel as though it’s not unreasonable to ask that the price is kept the same. To add, I also have a family connection at this dealer so I don’t think they’ll give me a super hard time. Opinions or advice anyone?

I think it's reasonable to expect at least the same discount off MSRP. We had a similar situation, and other than details like shipping fee - the price was almost the same. I think our price on the 25 is actually better even though the sticker went up a tad.

BMW gave price protection to all orders that were MY24's and were delayed to MY25. That price protection is to the dealers and we have had some want to charge more for the MY25 but most are honoring the original pricing.

Certainly an interesting situation that was out of your making. Asking is a good course of action. Let us know how it turns out.

I have my 50e which was pushed to '25 model at Habberstad and they are not hitting me with any up charge. If you have some pull with your dealer, I doubt it would even come up. Especially considering that your SA wasn't even aware of the MY change as well.

Good luck and keep us posted. Have you even been tot he dealer to see the new rig yet?

Thank you so much for this info! Highly helpful to me since this is an interesting unusual situation. Im not sure if this dealer will get the protection though. I placed my order with them back at the end of January, put down a deposit and everything but I don’t think they had any allocations. It seems they didn’t get an allocation till the end of February & at that point I received notification my order was accepted. I wasn’t told there would be any changes such as it being 2025 now. Finally I called to ask an unrelated question in march & the SA then told me it looked like it switched over to a 2025. But I’m under the impression it may have been put in as a 2025 from the start? When did the MY25 orders start being accepted?

Will keep everyone posted how this turns out! This is the whole reason there’s been a delay in picking up my order I think because they were trying to recrunch numbers and I haven’t heard back from my SA since Friday

Almost got mine from habberstad as well but ended up getting a better deal at Freeport because of the family connection. My SA told me the price changed because of 24 to 25 but I made it clear a while ago I didn’t want to pay difference. Called me once the car came in and said they had to “recrunch” some numbers but also because I added a $650 option after the initial order was placed too. I don’t think they’re going to give me a hard time I’ve just been waiting since Friday to hear back from them! This is what’s delaying me picking up the car I think, haven’t even seen it yet and the waiting is KILLING me

I've been in touch with my SA and they are giving me my original discount, but are willfully ignoring the question on maintaining the 24 MSRP.

Quick update for everyone who was curious: called my SA and he immediately off the bat told me don’t worry they’re honoring the 2024 pricing & also throwing in the $650 Alcantara headliner I added after ordering for FREE. Keeping my monthly lease payments exactly the same

I would try negotiating with them and solidifying the pricing. Definitely see if you can get the same deal and pricing! My dealer just said they would honor the 24 pricing & discounts

Well the good news was pricing is all set and got the discounts…bad news is I have to wait even longer to pick up because apparently bmw just issued a recall on the m60i’s so they can’t give me the car until it’s fixed. They think it’s just a software issue but hopefully it’s something they can deal with fast!
