Swap lease 19 x5 m sport

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Needed to upgrade the family wagon to the X7 to fit third child so need to find a new home for our X5. Car has been well taken care of and enthusiast family owned. Additional photos available upon request

Payment: $799.00/ month

Mile allowance: 12k/ year (36,010 at turn in)

Current milage: ~ 15k (will pay for additional miles upon swap to bring current based on date of swap)

Maturity date: 5/20/2022

NYS taxes were paid up front. In addition Security deposits were put down on car. For anyone not familiar with security deposits, they are payments put down up front that are paid back upon lease end. These are not a down payment, but instead a security deposit that is returned to lease owner no matter what happens with the car. Security deposits consist of 7 payments (in my case $5600.00). This is the only thing I would need paid up front since the security deposits will transfer over to whoever takes over the lease. If more information is desired please let me know and I can put you in touch with my dealers sales manager to explain in more detail. I am also willing to pay transfer fees.

In addition to the options below the only thing done to the vehicle is grill and exhaust bezels were professionally painted black to match shadow line trim

Just a heads up, NYS will still make new owner pay tax on remaining payments if registered here (can't speak for other states), and won't give you back the difference. They treat it like a new sale. At least that's how it went in 2017 when I swapped out of a BMW. Doubt it has changed and it's why I no longer pay tax up front.

As an aside, I thought NY didn't allow multiple security deposits? How did you manage that, bought out of state?

Thank you for the heads up. I assumed that since I paid for all the taxes for the lease at registration that they would satisfy the remaining lease. I will reach out to my sales manager to confirm.

Correct I get all my cars from NJ for that very reason. I find the MSD's to be such a nice option to lowering the payments

Good to know, never thought of that. Thanks.

On the taxes, I would check with NYS and DMV, salesman may not really know for sure. Even BMW FS when I had done it gave me bad info. I had gone all the way to calling Albany and submitting a form to try and recoup the money. And even then, was told by one person in the Taxation and Finance Dept that I would get it back, then they shot down my form and I called again and was told I got bad info the first time... that they treat it just like a sale. So, just as NY does with pre owned sales, they get double tax, since the first buyer pays tax on the full sale price, then they get it every time the car changes hands. It's robbery.

Current buy out is $64,104.81. I am currently ahead of miles which I am willing to pay for which would bring this down by probably another $2000.
