bad lease offer, please help!

Hey guys,

I am in the market to lease a 2020 x5 m50i. The build I put together comes to $100250. They are offering a sales price of $95695 which is only 4.59% off of MSRP. I am hearing that you guys are easily getting 7-10% off MSRP and some even 12%. The salesman said that if I got 10% off MSRP he would lose 6k in the sale. My amount down would be $1700 and $1440 per month for 36months and 12k miles.

What are your thoughts. We don't seem to be anywhere near 10% off MSRP before rebates. Thank you.

While 4.59% seems low it may be what the discounts are in your area. Hopefully you will have some members from Ohio post what their discount was. In the meantime, you may want to contact another nearby dealer and see what their offer would be.

Sounds like time to involve another dealer, or few. Email a few dealers and ask them for their best offer on the build you've put together, provide them with all the details, and then take the best offer and see if the other dealers can beat it.

Discounts are very regional, so I would do some research on what sorts of deals others are getting in your area. Check leasehackr to see if you can find what others may have paid.

If you're willing to go out of state you should be able to get 10% without a problem.

I'm doing PCD next Friday and received 10.8% off before incentives. PCD works for me since I'm only and hour and half from the factory. Might be a hassle for you since you're in Ohio. PM me if you want the dealer info.

Try truecar, it blasts the inquiry to multiple dealers internet sales people who are the most willing to price aggressively. Every dealer says they only have 6% margin but reality is they probably have about 12%. I got 10% before incentives on a custom build via text. I checked 5 dealers and got 8%, 9% and 10% from 2. One never responded and he was the most knowledgeable. But I imagine he would've been less keen to be so aggressive on pricing after he saw me salivate over the g05 m50. I ended up ordering an m50 10% off msrp before incentives.

I live in NJ and work with a dealer who is getting me 11% off MSRP on an xdrive40i order. 3 years ago when I was doing my last lease, another user from Ohio liked my 5 series order at the time and I ended up referring him to my dealer who got him the car and shipped it to him (he paid shipping) but they gave him like 10% off MSRP at the time when he was also getting something very low in Ohio. If you're open to working remotely with a dealer, let me know (PM me). I might be stopping by Friday to finalize my offer and can see if the advisor would work with you on a remote order and delivery.
