Individual color not available for X5?

What is the reason X5 is not on the list of the cars for individual pain? Is it just the fact that the LCI was released and they prioritize standard paint deliveries?

When it was available, what was the wait time? I need the car by the end of September.

I am pretty sure X5 LCI does have individual paint color options available. The new individual visualizer (https://individual.bmw-m.com/de/G21-61FY-P7E) has X5 just like the old one (https://visualizer.bmw-individual.co...=en&dc=1-1#top).

BMW made this fancy nice looking UI for the new visualizer but this is the first time I am seeing that they require the user to select numbers and letters for model numbers separately.

Anyone knows whether BMW FS would go beyond 6 months extension if I am waiting for X5 with individual color?

Also, I assume individual color cars are going from different allocation than a standard one. Does it help with discount negotiations or to the contrary?

Assuming you mean a lease extension, I have not heard of them doing it but it never hurts to as.

No, it is from the dealer's standard allocations it just gets scheduled differently. That is likely why some dealers play dumb when asked about Individual paint. If anything, it will hurt your negotiations. We have heard of some delays not budging on the $5k price and not offering as much of a discount on the vehicle. It all depends on the dealer, timing, etc.

I started negotiations not mentioning the individual color. I potentially got to the price I can accept. Then I added the individual color and the party started again... what is the additional effort at the dealer end to process an order with an individual color? I understand that BMW needs to make the effort, but the dealer?

It is essentially next to zero effort. For the X vehicles, there's an approved list of individual colors. Dealer submits form with that color request, including production number (and a few other things), email it in. Boom, accepted.

This is what I thought. Sales people are just using any opportunity to make more money... Thanks!

At least in Germany the individual paint is always excluded from discount (it is listed like an accessory) and an individual order is apparently different to a standard one as you can't change anything about the car as soon as the order is accepted (111), while you can with standard paints until production begins. (150)

I've ordered mine (Malachite Green) on March 1st and production week seems to be WK24 with a delivery in the first week of August. But it also depends on the paint (and when the next batch of that paint will be done) and NA orders seem to get prioritized over EU orders a lot so YMMV.
