Is there even a market for another big ugly bmw coupe that is at least 1-2 generations behind audi and merc interior quality from the onset
The 6 series already has this covered, disastrously so going by sales figures |

Apparently you're behind the times considerably if you honk the 6 has the big coupe market covered. Mercedes interior quality leaves a lot to be desired and does not age well, IMO. Not a big fan of the Audi layout either with their newer displays and shifter configurations.

Based on the Concept and recent spy shots I feel we will be left a little disappointed. It will look "good" but will also just look like a big BMW just as the 6er coupe did. It's the same route Acura took with the new NSX: good looking, but pays no homage to the original. I was hoping for a modern interpretation of the classic design, such as in this render:
Boy that long hood and those proportions are to die for. Classic "squared off" handsome 8-series design rather than what BMW will actually give us (curvaceous, oversized kidneys, etc.). |

No there's not. That's why BMW isn't making that.

And yet Scott seemed to suggest that a new and different V12 would live on, at least under the 7's and the X7's bonnet. Maybe a hybrid V12 instead of a hybrid V8 which would be the logical replacement that first comes to mind?
