I have been experiencing an odd issue with CarPlay the last few days. Seems like every since upgrading to iOS 17...

CarPlay connects just fine, but music will go silent. The GUI will still show a track progressing in the music app, but when rotating the volume dial, I see "No source available".

All other CarPlay apps work just fine, SMS, maps etc. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, IOS17 has been a little glitchy. Issues with the start of music tracks (skips/distortion) and my Apple maps will randomly display “calculating route” on the HUD and stop updating..

I also notice that the next/prev track buttons on the steering wheel go to a disabled state from time to time. Super frustrating. I can toggle wifi and bring functionality back temporarily.

I forgot about this bug! Yeah, I experienced this as well. Next/prev don’t work on the wheel or on the console. But you can use the touch screen.

The strange thing is, it just started happening. I’ve been using the public betas and haven’t updated since the last public beta, which was the release candidate over a week ago. Not sure why yesterday it decided to ignore my next/prev!

I'd hold off. Not 100% sure it was iOS 17, but sure seems like it. Still running a few more tests. I am able to control volume with all other apps outside of carplay.

I decided to update and took a quick trip to Walgreens. connection to CarPlay was quick as usual. songs from Music sounded fine and responded to steering wheel and console controls without lag. on the return trip I also used Apple Maps; no issues with GUI. songs via CarPlay again without issue. I’ll continue to test and report if any anomalies

did y’all reboot iDrive and restart iPhone?

Im also not able to use next/previous tracks both on steering and the hard buttons after ios 17 update.

It took a while before the bugs started showing up. Not sure why. Hopefully everything works fine for you, though!
