Is this a good deal for a 2021 BMW X5?

Hey all! We're strongly considering this almost fully loaded 2021 BMW X5. It's got almost everything except for DHP. It even has a 3rd row and it's CPO. Can you guys please let me of any red flags and reasonable price? Thanks!

I think it’s a little over priced but given it’s a bit of a rare CPO - fully loaded m sport - someone will prob pay it. Right price is prob ~49-50 with 26k miles.

Thank you! We're thinking that the right price is $49k-50k. Much appreciated!

It's a local owned and always serviced at BMW lease car. Any maintenance things we should have them perform?

That seems like a fair price if you need a small 3 row option. I wouldn't get too hung up on advertised prices, look at your all in costs. A dealer that's a little cheaper might have a doc fee that's a couple grand more to make up for it.

At the end of the day, 2-4k on a car this expensive is nothing over the term of ownership. Spend the money on the right car for you.

Thank you! My wife really loves the color combination, mineral white with tartufo merino leather.

Good find and a rare combo of options. I’d hope you can get it for high $40’s. I’m guessing the dealer has invested low to mid $40’s in it. Best of luck.

Thank you! They just got the car 2 days ago, it hasn't even been detailed yet, so i'm not sure how aggressive they will be in pricing. I'm hoping for $50k or $49k.

Best of luck. Time is of the essence as this X5 is loaded and will likely go soon. Most 3-4 year old X5’s aren’t as well equipped.

Agree with this. Don’t get hung up on trying to get the perfect deal. Instead - Get the perfect car you will be happier in the end.

They countered with $52,127. Still high, or can i try to go for lower price?

It's only high if it isn't what you want.

Do this, do a search nationwide and find others with the same.options and specs. See what they're priced at. Now price out your travel and time. If you can take a day or two off work, fly out to somewhere and save 5k, it might be worth it. I suspect you will find that is not the case. The days of massive negotiability in car.peices are gone, most dealers price close to their bottom dollar now to move metal.

As said, high spec X5s.are surprisingly rare. They're rarer still on the 40i. I wouldn't walk away from the deal based on a price range you came.uo with likely looking at lower optioned vehicles. A couple.of the options packs cost that price difference by themselves.

Yup and as LDT said this dealer prob bought this car out for 45k - maybe 47k at the most. Usually the post cars initially at a minimum of a 5k profit spread.

Personally - I’d tell them I think they just posted it and have a large margin. I’d follow that with a 50.5 offer and say you will be be there today to pick it up.

Offering to close fast is a good tool bc they know you’re serious and not just negotiating for fun.

They might counter at 51.5 or w.e and at that point if you do not want to lose the car then just take it.

Absolute worse case they reject any counter and you still have the choice to pick their current price. As long as you negotiate fast - reduce the risk of someone else swooping in.

Another good point, have you physically been in to see, drive, and fart in the car? Dealers have tons of people calling and emailing them wanting all these crazy discounts, and then they also have walk ins that are there to buy and more often than you'd think will pay asking price and then some. You're not gonna get the best price until you're a real person in the showroom, farting in that leather seat.

We're at the dealership now, the lowest is $52k. I think we'll go ahead with the deal. It's CPO and importantly we really like it. Thanks everyone again for the valuable advice!

Bought a CPO 2021 X5 that had massage seats, M sport package & brakes with 13k miles for $53,800 in December. Sticker was $79k new. I love it. Drove two hours to buy it. Local dealer had an X5 with 39k miles and fewer options for $51k-so I was happy with my deal.

Seems like you got a decent price. Good luck with the new wheels. I came from a Q7; as much as I liked the Q7, especially on the highway, I love the X5 even more.

I think the key financial tradeoff is if you can return 3% after taxes risk free, and it's going to be over, under, or about the same depending on your marginal tax rate.

Californian here so it's unfortunately a no at money market at 5pct.

Of course you could also argue that money market is not risk free, but if the US Treasury defaults then all bets are off across the global financial ecosystem.

Giving your money to bmw financial is risk free? I’m not sure the structure here but if they are holding it then definitely not risk free..
