New member, new X5 M50i & new wheels

Hi folks

Just wanted to introduce myself. Expecting my X to arrive in about 4 weeks, it's currently on ship!

ACS front lip is coming
Got my Rohana wheels already here in 22"

F 10.5 ET 35
R 11.5 ET 28

So calculated the wheels will pop out in front by +1.47cm or 0.6inch and rear +2.77cm or 1.09inch. Cant wait to see it on my car.

Thanks to your post I have another data for my 22" wheel search. I'm considering a 22 without a spacer and did some calculations based on the info from this forum. I have data for stock 22 in staggered setup, stock 22 with 15/20mm spacers, dubsesd custom 22 and now yours.

I have zero experience with wheels/tires but I'm curious why you said yours will pop out more. If yours is correct my calculations maybe is messed up. Please check spreadsheet below. I've added yours at the bottom. If my calculations are correct yours will be less aggressive than those who put 15/22 spacers on their 22's. (Yours is also more aggressive on the inside).

Hey pal
No worries 😉

So it's very simple

On your calc sheet you have 9" instead of 9.5 in the front and the stock rear offset is 43mm instead of 25mm

So on the rear I have 15mm due to offset and as I go wider 1 inch in total there is 1.27cm on each side

15mm+12.7mm=27.7mm which is about 1.09" to the outside

So basically my set up is 5mm more aggressive

Makes sense?

Thanks! That's it. If I correct the offsets to 37/43 for the stock 22 (I should have looked it up) your measurements made perfect sense. Your setup becomes more aggressive than those using 12/15 spacers (outside).

Below is my updated spreadsheet (lookalike I can go bigger on my custom 22

Now you got it. And thanks for the spreadsheet.

I have the same. For all the cars I had and all my wheel combos😆

I'm very picky and accurate when it comes to wheels and perfect stance

Cool! Glad to have you corrected and confirmed my calculations.

Please post some pictures when you get your car with your mods installed.

Nice! You had a GLC63 before? And then went to Audi? (Guessing by the username). I had a GLC43, we chatted about wheels a bit. Just got an M50i a week and a half ago.

Yeah it is, hope you're well! Surprised you didn't go with an X5M.
I've been working 12+hrs a day 7 days a week finishing up a contract since getting it so have only driven it 2 times. Will take some getting used to, haven't had a BMW for a few years and the last one was an 09 so lots to figure out. It's a lot bigger/heavier than the GLC43, feels a bit less sporty/more luxury in comparison but haven't had enough time behind the wheel to comment too much.

Did you go with air suspension?

Which wheel is it, RFX11? Guessing the offsets are custom?
Oh and isn't Mythos Black an Audi color? lol.

Fk you're absolutely right. Got this mythos black for some reason in my head as I was deciding between RS6 and this car! Hahahaha

Well noticed. Yes it's the RFX11 and is a standard offset.

Well I test drove all the cars. RSQ8, SQ8, RS6, first as I was slightly more biased to Audi first. Then I tried out M50i, X4M, X5M and for me it was crystal clear that its going to be the M50i.

Why? RS6 is powerful but I missed something. The standout to other Audi models was not as big from the interior and felt kinda boring. Cant explain. Looking at all data between X5M and M50i and speaking to a so called BMW GENIUS at the BMW test facility center for good customers where they invite you for closed room presentations etc I found out that the engine is the same. Seats, brakes and set up is different but as it is my dd and we have another little baby I thought it's the better option to go.

Nice. I ordered ours without driving one, didn't even know they existed at first. (Was going to get a Macan Turbo, didn't realize the wait would be so long, walked into BMW, my wife liked the X5, started googling and after a ton of research ended up ordering the M50i)

I like those wheels, they were on the top of my list for the Mercedes. Can't wait to see them on, awesome that there's a proper fitment for them without having to go custom.

So which suspension did you go with? I'm guessing air so you can drop it?

Sometime life has other plans...😄
So it did for you instead a Macan

Well I got the M adaptive sport suspension so yes I want to lower it maybe bot necessarily. Ill see how it goes with the wheels if its not to tight fitment

I ordered mine with DHP. It rides pretty smooth, even with the 22's it's a less harsh ride than the Mercedes was with 20's and non-runflats. (Firm in sport but could be firmer imo)
A little less wheel gap would look good, I haven't looked into if/what is available though.
